Re: New Muse tune "The Dark Side"

It's decent but this band definitely peaked in the mid 2000s.

Re: Who here misses the late 80's/early 90's more as time passes?

I miss aspects of that era. For instance, I miss people not being consumed by their cell phones. I miss having multiple record stores to shop at. I miss having a variety of stores at the mall. It's 90% clothes stores now. I miss the radio formats from that era. I miss people not being as divided ov...

Yup, "We Can't Dance" was wicked popular. Even the 94 solo album from Phil "Both Sides of the Story" had some good push right out of the gate. That was was the last time I recall him being taken seriously still and having any relevance. I loved that song when it was first released! Think I was abou...

Re: Best Vinnie Vincent Invasion Songs

I must be in the minority, but I really like everything on the first album a lot. I wore it out. Sure the guitar solos are stupid long, but the songs are great and super catchy. I didn't care for the 2nd album at all. I would say the vocals are very Fleichmann who Slaughter later imitated (or just ...

Standing in line to see the Ozzy/Metallica tour at Brown County arena in Green Bay, WI. We were about 25th in line to get in and the people in front of us played it over and over. Most people were also passing around 2 liter bottles which must have been strong since by the time the doors opened we ...

I thought he was saying It was a great album "except for 'Still of the Night', [which is] pure drivel". My apologies if I read that wrong.
OP, care to chime in!
Yeah. It could be read either way, actually.

Phil is a talented MF, despite him looking like your Uncle Bob. He too fell victim to the "80s Sucks" trend that washed over the industry with the advent of Grunge in '92 and '93. no he didn't. We Can't Dance was a huge hit in 92-93. Collins didn't feel the pinch til he decided to leave Genesis for...

I remember picking up the first two albums a decade ago. I really liked the first one at the time, and I thought there were some decent songs on the 2nd album. I revisited both albums a few years later, and I found it mostly mediocre. Maybe I should spin them again to see if my opinion has changed.
