Not a Sludge-band by any means, very good still. 1977 and Free All Angels are my favourites from them. A-Z Vol. 1 & 2 are very good too.

Their ep Popkiller with Toby Jepson (Little Angels) is really good too. Shame they didn't do more together.BulletProofPoet wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 10:34 am
GUN - never really get talked about on here but those first 3 albums are spectacular! The new stuff without Mark Rankin is also still really solid.

Re: Gene Simmons in great shape in São Paulo!
Cutting out the dead weight (everything about Thanley, backing tracks, click tracks, more fiery players) has never been more easily apparent. I thought he was sluggish because of the costume, but those things really arent that heavy, I think he just was totally sick of the current production. Would...

Re: Riki Rachtman *was* Headbangers Ball
Backer was hotter and didn't focus so much on bands that were her friends... or had her husband in them. If you just watched HBB Europe, you'd think The Almighty was on Guns/Mötley's level while in real life they were everyone's go-to opening band for a few years. Vanessa was boring. There were a f...

We played Melancholy Man (Pinder's Moody Blues song that he sang) this week at band practise and heard later that he died the same day. Strange coincidence.

Re: Heart - Opening Night Setlist is...
All I Wanna Do is one of their biggest hits. Absurd they won’t play one of their true classics for their fans. Ann Wilson hates the song. It may have been Chuck Shute or Dean Del Ray but I remember them talking about how the song objectifies. That’s probably the reason it’s not in the set. No wonde...

Re: Riki Rachtman *was* Headbangers Ball
He didn’t host the Headbanger’s Ball in Europe, Vanessa Warwick did, and the show was as big over here. It was all about the bands/music at the time. Might be good for you to know ”over there”. If it hadn’t been Riki, someone else would have been the host and presented the videos in MTV’s prime. Kr...

I could play drums for a few bands, but most fun would be a set of 70's Status Quo.

Those guys are now in Michael Monroe's band.Aerosmith87 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 1:02 pm The 2006-2010ish New York Dolls rebirth had an amazing band. Sami Yaffa and Steve Conte were an amazing fit. Drummer was solid, too. They had the perfect blend of being proficient to great at their roles, but being loose & tight at the same time.

Strange to see Hilden mentioned here. He was from Finland, as two others from Trash (the band). He died two years ago.Love_Industry wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 3:28 amAFAIK they started with Swedish drummer Hempo HildénVan Ailin' wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 9:11 pm

Looks like these Wolfie threads are starting to turn up in dreams (or nightmares). Still I haven't heard a song from him. Anyway, in dream Wolfie had joined one of my bands and was now trying to run it. He had a song called Feelin' (not related to the Van Halen song) and insisted that we play ...
