Re: Rest in Peace Ozzy!
I'm shocked frankly. Looked good on the pay per view, yeah he was sitting but it seemed like he had a fire in his eyes and sang better than expected to my ears Yeah, same. Definitely didn't expect him to pass away this soon after that show. It probably took everything he had to be able to perform l...

Re: Random thoughts about old singers losing their voices
Brian Johnson and Mick Jagger, no matter what they do, won't sound as good as they did 30 years ago, even if they're only playing twice a week for a couple of months Jagger still sounds pretty good...Johnson not so much but I mean his style of singing is very difficult to pull off at any age, let a...

Re: It's been a week now...can we all admit...(Ozzy/Sabbath)
I wasn't even that excited for this ahead of time, but it vastly exceeded my expectations. Same. I was totally expecting this to be a mess with a very disappointing ending given Ozzy's current condition but overall I'd say they pulled it off really well. The planning/logistics of the whole thing mu...

Re: It's been a week now...can we all admit...(Ozzy/Sabbath)
Sure, you can criticize every single aspect of this....the choice of bands, ticket prices, production, Ozzy's performance etc. But what's the point? Ozzy's been attempting to say his farewell on a stage for years and at least he got to finally do that as it clearly meant a lot to him. The fact that ...

Yeah. They apparently recorded a whole album with this guy years back (right before Chester Bennington joined them) that was never released. I'd be really curious to hear that!Wild Obsession wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 5:29 pm That was good, and unfortunately illustrates how stagnate STP is with the tribute band singer.

Re: Latest DLR photo…
Nah, a fall does not cause Parkinson and Parkinson is why Ozzy is fucked right now... Sounds like he's physically more affected by the different injuries than Parkinson's based on the interview below. ‘If I had a choice between the Parkinson’s and the f***ing neck, I’d go for the Parkinson’s. I’ve ...

Re: Latest DLR photo…
But... again, I understand the age factor is huge! Look at Ozzy. Legend... but a sad grim reality. $tEvil I really wonder what condition Ozzy would be in today if hadn't crashed that quad-bike in 2003 when he nearly died. It seems like that and the subsequent neck/back surgeries is what truly screw...

Re: If Nuno Had Taken The Ozzy Gig In '95...
Richie has been pretty candid over the years that he had zero respect for Poison at the time, and didn't bother to learn the solos to the songs before his audition. He had a massive ego and surely he thought CC sucked and (wrongly) thought he could improve on the solos. ....and yet, somehow they st...

Re: Steve Tyler is 77 years old?!
Tyler sounded fantastic yesterday. I guess his voice.has recovered, or is he good for a few songs but not a full set and tour? Yeah, he probably can't sing the highs anymore or scream like he used, maybe for a couple of songs but even here you could even tell it was Nuno trying to sing the high voc...

Re: Black Sabbath are BACK! For 1 night only.
Ozzy's vocals sounded suspiciously good. Hard to say he was lip synching because his frequent screams in between of "let me see your hands!" were definitely live and it would hard to sync all that stuff up.... I'm sure there was all kinds on processing on his voice but he wasn't lip-synch...

He was, in 1986. He's can't play like that anymore, unfortunately... Zakk is a less interesting player but you'll never see him fuck up or not give a 100% every time.El Vampiro Blanco wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 12:47 am Jake is so much better than Zakk, both playing wise and as a live performer.

^^^ Issue with in-ears I think. That happens sometimes with him where he'll be a beat off for an entire section and I don't notice it with other singers who use in-ears. Makes me wonder what he has in his mix. Just happened in Jungle also. Yeah, I noticed that on this last tour...wonder if his hear...

Tony McAlpine is known for being an shredder and an equally accomplished piano player.HottKarl777 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 5:09 am
Now that I think about it the guy that Gilbert always bowed down to was Shawn Lane. And he could shred piano as hard as guitar, which I've never seen anyone do.

It's decent IMO. Don't think you can expect much more than this from a bunch of guys in their 70's.
