Re: Fleischman goes to town on THE ULTIMATE VIN in interview
The first Invasion album is the ultimate over the top hard rock album and is even more over the top than Nitro. Super high vocals, drums sound like a drum machine, and his solos are completely insane and don't even follow the song melody or structure in any way most of the time.

Re: Sorry, cats... OZZMOSIS... for Huey, of course!
The beginning of the end for Ozzy. The songs are long and boring and the production is terrible. Perry Mason is good and that's about it. You can tell he had different writers, players, and directions throughout the almost four years since No More Tears. This trend continued throughout the rest of h...

What if Ray Gillen stayed in Blue Murder?
What if Judas Priest allowed Reckless to be on the Top Gun soundtrack?
What if the Vai material was what Ozzy finished and released instead of Ozzmosis?
What if Zakk joined Gn'R?

Re: Bark at the Moon is a CLASSIC and Jake E. Lee RULED
Yeah, it's crazy Jake couldnt go from strength to strength at the time, like joining up with Whitesnake or something. He prolly had his brain fried by being fucked with as a sideman, and didnt want to do it again. +1 for Shot in the Dark beng wussy and lame. TUS is my least fave of all Ozz albums t...

Re: Vivian Campbell: From Dio Fallout to Def Leppard Legend
Def Leppard legend? No one goes to see DL to hear any of the songs Viv recorded with them. He was great on the Dio stuff, but did nothing of note after that. Played a few tracks on a forgotten Lou Graham solo album, Riverdogs was a bomb and so was Shadow King.

Re: It's been a week now...can we all admit...(Ozzy/Sabbath)
I'm about 80% through the whole 10 hour show. I really enjoyed most of it. So far, the only weak points were Corgan (can't sing and his stage moves are absolutely laughable), didn't like the way Pantera sounded, Hagar was a joke besides a decent version of Bad Motor Scooter, and the strange timing A...

I always liked his playing, melodies, and tone on the No More Tears album. He had a great run from No Rest through Book Of Shadows. He did the same BLS stuff for too long after that.

Re: “Mr Jake E Lee!!”
Badlands reunion! Who can be the singer? Mattley, funny Badlands story for you. I was sitting w/ Jake on the MORC one night and asked him his "favorite Jake E Lee" riff, like if he was a 3rd person, and he chuckled and said that he loved Hard Wire. I told him no, that Jake E Lee's best ri...

Re: Van Hagar “The Dream Is Over”
Second best Hagar album after 5150. Production is very good and fit in with that big early 90s hard rock sound and Ed was inspired by his new guitar tone and setup. One of the best tracks on that album for sure. The newest remaster does a great job in balancing the sound at a higher volume where the...

Re: Revisiting Def Leppard’s Adrenalize

Re: Ratt Detonator U.S. tour
From those box offices, Warrant/Trixter/Firehouse were outdrawing Ratt/LA Guns/Bang Tango. As it's already been said numerous times in this thread, the newer bands were miles above Ratt by 1991. This doesn't surprise me at all. Like I said, you saw those three bands on MTV. Of the other three, at t...

Re: Ratt Detonator U.S. tour
As someone who watched an absolute shitload of MTV in 1990-1991, Detonator was DOA. Winger, Poison, Warrant, Skid Row, Motley, Cinderella, Slaughter, and to a lesser extent Trixter and later Firehouse were what was on the air from mid 90 to mid 91. I NEVER saw videos from Ratt. Ever. I think I saw ...

We already got a bunch of those last year (the Ted Templeman mixes, or whatever it was called...good stuff). Is there a link out there for that stuff still? I remember listening to some of it but that’s been awhile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QQQrv4lCa0&t=1s&ab_channel=thunderdude54

It's awful and desperate. For as good as he is, Satch just can't do EVH at all. I've seen bar band guitar players with a better feel for VH songs.

Savatage... hmmmm, could there be a less interesting group? Oh yea, Rush and Dream Theater. $tEvil That’s just dumb. Their early albums had GREAT riffs, great songs, great vocals and they stood apart from the majority of Priest/Maiden clones who were still recycling the early ‘80s cliches. They wer...

Can't go wrong with Stained Class, Hell Bent/Killing Machine, and Sin After Sin. Took influence from what Gillen and Mercury were doing and set the template for metal vocals for the 80s metal scene.

Re: Worst Van Halen song from VH1 through the 1984 Album ?
Never cared much for Pretty Woman, but that's as far as I'll go. Loss of Control kicks ass and Top Jimmy has one of Ed's best solos and he plays a Ripley on it.
