Re: Anyone remember this song from 1992?
I have never heard that song. But have you heard this episode of the "Reply All" podcast? It is amazing, and is about the very thing you are talking about - remembering a song from your youth and going crazy trying to track it down. It is my very favorite podcast episode of all time. https...

Re: My alarm clock is from the early 80’s
So do I, although it is not my daily driver. It was the first nice thing I ever bought - got it new for $12k and my dad had to co-sign the note. I was 24 years old.I got a 99 Ford Ranger
It has a manual transmission and roll-up windows. It holds many memories for me.

Re: My alarm clock is from the early 80’s
I am also 50. I received an alarm clock for Christmas when I was 9. The thing was badass. It had a digital clock and a cassette player, along with AM/FM radio. It looked exactly like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qrt8RSF3ac Sometime in the mid-90s, a cassette of Steve Miller's Greatest Hits...

Re: So Dee Snider moved into my neighborhood…
Funny in the interview he mentions he wants to "turn NC's movie industry into what Atlanta's done." Such a newbie comment, considering that Wilmington, NC was the top production location on the east coast (aside from NYC). Up until about a decade ago when the state legislature took away t...

Re: Blackie Lawless made the Washington Post
I enjoyed the story but I'm not sure it hit the target. I don't feel as though Blackie is relevant enough to deserve that kind of attention.
As an aside: The author of this story attended one of my barbecues last year.

Wednesday 13 gives a tour of his house
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEo0WDXrecA
He must spend half his waking hours dusting all that stuff.
Seems like a nice guy but I could never get into his music. He played 5 minutes from my house a few weeks ago and I did not attend.

Some guys really need to know when to give it up with the hair. Normally I would agree but I bet this guy is hilarious to have a beer with. I mean, he works at Duke University. https://oit.duke.edu/profile/stephen-toback/ And he apparently plays open mics like 10 minutes from my house. Maybe I'll b...

There is zero chance that video got 200,000 legitimate views in just a few days. That said, it was pretty good.
Does anyone know how Mandy Lion puts bread on his table?
Is he an emergency room physician? A tech at Jiffy Lube?

Still Rain The guitarist went on to hit it big in Sevendust. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clint_Lowery As an aside, I know a 19-year-old groupie who once put on a dildo show for the Still Rain band and crew. Years later she found out that story had spread all over the Southeast. Lucky for her this...

Re: Bands who were big regionally and never broke big
Sedalia, Mo This has to be the first mention of Sedalia on this message board. In 1982 or so, I saw my very first concert in Sedalia: The Oak Ridge Boys at the Missouri State Fair. The Oaks may not have been a regional band, but you know which Missouri band was? The Urge. I'm surprised the St. Loui...

Re: “32 Pennis in a Ragu Jar”
The best who ever lived. And I would stand on the coffee table in Bob Dylan's living room and wag my finger at the old man and tell him so.And Jani was a good writer?
To wit:
I said hookers
And whores
And a teenage slut
On the bathroom floor
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love
Oh yeah

Well, it is mostly for background music. The tequila shots, beer, amazing food and so on will take care of the rest.
We'll need a report after the party! Extra points for photos of sexy MILFs in motorcycle leather.

Sweet FA
Quick question though: Do you want people to have a good time at this party? If so, you would be better off playing fun songs that people know.
A Sleez Beez deep track ain't gonna get anyone laid.

Re: I've been listening to a lot of Jason Isbell lately
To answer your question about popularity, he plays venues in the 3,000-7,000 range. I live in North Carolina, and when he plays here he often does two nights in a 4,500 theater.
