Guns N Roses opened for the Rolling Stones!
Quireboys and Dan Reed also opened for Rolling Stones.

I saw Pink Cream 69 open for Europe and Enuff z Nuff open for Poison.

Re: Who is/was bigger: GN'R or Bon Jovi?

Bon Jovi peaked by the time GnR hit.

Both mega-bands.

GnR have an advantage that they haven’t released that much over 40 years and have retained an element of mystique, whilst BJ transitioned from rock to dad rock in the late 90’s. Different target audiences.

Re: Slash and Bert

It was reported back in the 80’s that it was between Slash and CC. Bert was more in to Slash’s Aerosmithy style but CC came with oven baked songs and a look the other two realised would give them an edge. Worked out for the best.

Re: Slash and Bert

Pretty sure but can’t be certain that some time in the early 90’s there was a show in Wembley Arena or somewhere similar in London that was a Gibson Guitar show, and I’m pretty sure Bert rocked up and played Poor Boy Blues with the house band which had Slash and Jason Bonham in it.

Re: Poison 2026 tour

So.....a Tom Kiefer, Stephen Pearcy or Tesla type opener agree's & they kind of co headline at 70 minutes each Does Poison go with a LAG/Lita Ford type 40 minute opener OR Could they get away (with 2 solid headliners) with going out with a new band ala Tuk Smith, The Bites, Bad Marriage or some...

Re: Poison 2026 tour

I will go out on a limb, and say there is about a ZERO % chance that Twisted Sister would ever open for Poison. $tEvil How come? Not disagreeing but not aware of an issue there? I actually think it would be quite good, and if they could add someone like Quireboys to open it would be something for e...

Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes.

I was in London Last week and didn’t realise they were playing, Derp. Clips look amazing. Nothing against Lydon, I like him but he’s done an Izzy and sounds bitter. More power to them.

Re: BREAKING NOW … Guns N’ Roses welcome Isaac Carpenter as their New Drummer.

Izzy got bought out a few years ago and won’t go back as an employee so it can’t happen. It is a shame because all they have to offer is one classic album and it can’t be delivered authentically without the swagger and groove of Adler and Izzy. I doubt any of them care though.

Re: Stewart Copeland Hears Limp Bizkit For The First Time

That's called the "traditional grip". From Google: The main advantage of traditional drum grip is its ability to provide a more nuanced touch and subtle dynamics, particularly in jazz drumming, due to the natural turning motion of the wrist and forearm, allowing for a lighter, more sensit...

Re: How do you rate Billy Duffy (The Cult) as a guitarist?

Gave Johnny Marr his first guitar lesson and still sounds fresh after 40 years of recording. One of the best sounding rock and pop players out there. Head and shoulders above most metal players. Influential.
