Re: Guns N Roses- The General (live at hollywood bowl)
It makes me wonder, has Axl actually written a new song since Chinese Democracy? He's probably still bitching that the record company released it and he wasn't able to finetune it for another 15 years.

What's up with the lame alligator film playing in the background?
Song is an atrocity.
I would not go see them even if I were paid for it.

Better than any post-Skyscraper DLR album. A Little Ain't Enough was better than Skyscraper though. No way. Title track is classic DLR. But what else is there? Tell The Truth and Sensible Shoes are alright. Maybe Lady Luck, Drop In The Bucket. Most of it is garbage. Skyscraper has Damn Good Times, ...

Here's the thing about production... We already know how they made Appetite for Destruction, Dr. Feelgood, Slippery When Wet, etc. The producers and engineers were there. They know what they did. (Even if the musicians were boozed up or drugged out of their minds.) So why does every rock band, old ...

Re: Lying in album liner notes
I do care. I've always been fascinated by who ghosted on what album, who actually wrote the songs, etc. For instance, James Kottak used to list the Trixter debut in his discography on his website. So ever since I've wondered whether it's actually him and not Mark Gus Scott on drums, but I've never s...

Does Dee Snider have the conviction that he is the repository of the truth? Frankly, I'm tired of reading every day Mr. Dee Snider shoot sentences like he's a great statesman when in the end he's just a foolish clown! I also appreciate how the keys have that click/thud sound, like you're standing next to the person playing them in the room. I'm not sure if that would be considered a gate effect or not. Maybe a studio geek can explain it better. It always reminded me of the sound on this: https://www.youtube.com/...

The Van Halen song I mean.
OU812 has quite a few songs I don't care about but I love this one. Ed seemed more interested in keys than guitar playing at this point, but I've always been a sucker for synth heavy rock.

The definitive live hair band album?
Plenty of 70s rock and metal bands had an iconic live release: Unleashed in the East, Live and Dangerous, Tokyo Tapes, Alive, Made in Japan, etc. When it comes to glam, I can't really think of too many killer live albums, even less when it comes to material dating from their peak years. Maybe World ...
