Re: Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown

This song is pretty cool! (despite the sterile modern production..... producer to band "I see you guys are into vintage gear, let me make that strat and les paul sound like you are both playing nondescript $100 guitars through a solid state amp".)

Re: so far it looks like rock radio is avoiding Ghosts new single

I've been avoiding the whole album. It's too light in the loafers for me. I miss the heaviness, arrangements, and great riffs from the last one. And yes, I've given it many spins. Maybe next one will be better. If you really liked Meliora, I can't see being that turned off by Prequelle?, yes it's n...

IMO, they waited too long to release a 2nd single, and lost the momentum they gained with "Rats".

Damon was one of key songwriters in the band and his guitar style was a perfect fit, BSR must be on it's last leg if they couldn't find anybody better than some toneless, nu-metal hack.

Re: Jason Newsted rocked San Rafael, CA- some pics

What an asshole, his newfound "Americana/Johnny Cash" style is laughable. His last metal/solo band attempt was a commercial and financial failure, so all of a sudden he discovers his "roots/acoustic side"? (so he can play out with minimal gear and no production). Can't he get a bass gig with an esta...

Re: Did Skid Row really think they were too big to open for Kiss in '96?

Bach seems like a control freak. That was one of the issues in Skid Row. Snake and Rachel wanted him to just sing the songs they wrote and he tried to force himself into the songwriting team. He would refuse to sing certain lyrics or songs he didn't like. This ^ has some merit, but the other side i...

Re: WB shakeup, Cavill likely to exit Superman role

I liked Cavill as Superman and although I usually can't stand Ben Affleck, I thought he was great as Batman. Justice League was good (and better than most of the sub-par sequels Marvel has been churning out), but it seems that DC just can't get their shit together, and only plan is to keep throwing ...

The best thing about Phil Lewis is, that like I - he does not give 1 fuck what anyone else thinks.

Phil sure "seems to give a fuck" when his audience is paying more attention to other members of the band (Scotty Griffin, Michael Grant).

Re: LA GUNSHOT ... Phil Lewis to former bassist Kelly Nickels: “Crawl back under the stone from where you came.”

Phil is a cunt and The Missing Peace CD is really not a improvement over Tales From The Strip and Hollywood Forever, in fact I think Tales is the best of the 3. The excitement of the Phil/Tracii "reunion" is negated by the mediocre CD and scab rhythm section.

Re: Back in the 80s and 90s, I thought the voice of Phil Collins would be a staple of pop radio and my life forever on

But it turns out, he only had a handful of unremarkable singles during the 2000s, and has fallen off the table, like all other white male pop stars of the time. There was just something reassuring about imagining his voice and ongoing musical career seeing me through my 30s and 40s, much like he di...

I seriously thought it was a guy with a high voice until they showed her (Beth something) at halftime, either way she has an annoying/hard to listen to voice, and because of that it blow my mind that she would have a career as a commentator.

The problem is that you get greedy fuckers and old people, 90 year old Aunt Edna hasn't left the house in 3 weeks, and probably has enough supplies to last her through Christmas, but she needs to top off the Cadillac and buy 6 loafs of bread "just in case".

Big fan of Gn'R and a fan of STP, but IMO Slash and Weiland didn't make a good musical partnership, both sounded "subdued" in VR compared to their previous bands.
