Re: David Gilmour(Pink Floyd) new album or tour?

Gilmour is a great live act - his voice and guitar playing remain amazing - but the eight or nine date North American tours are kind of inconvenient if you don't live in LA, NY, Chicago or Toronto.

Re: Realistically, how much longer does GN'R have? OR ANY OF THESE BANDS??

Rolling Stones ticket sales have pretty much stalled out completely. So many fans from the fan communities have died the past few years. They have finally outlived their fan base. Might be the best chance for last minute bargains since they were doing 100 show stadium tours. I love the Stones, but ...

Happy to see this. The bogus acts posing as the real thing - especially ones where the two main members are still alive, kicking and performing - should have been gone long, long ago.

Re: here's a list of some untalented pop trash

Sheryl Crow is a fantastic singer, musician, songwriter and live performer. Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez aren't in her league. I don't care much for Kid Rock's goofy, trailer trash rapper persona, but Devil Without a Cause was a good album, and "All Summer Long" is a summertime classi...

Very true, but a few big festival shows and/or being part of a double or triple bill playing arenas and sheds might change the math.

I was never into pills and I haven't touched coke, acid or mushrooms in the past twenty years. I'll smoke weed sometimes if it is homegrown by somebody I know or from a store, but I usually opt for gummies instead to avoid a sore throat, irritated lungs. My kid is a an occasional weed smoker, but he...

Chronic Town by R.E.M. and Come On Pilgrim by the Pixies top my list.

Volume One by the Honeydrippers was also good, but more of a one-off, side project than a true debut.

I liked DLR's Crazy From the Heat when it came out. Now, not so much, but it was a big hit.

Two club shows within a month of one another in '97: Foo Fighters and Green Day. I was 25, but most fans seemed to be at least five years younger. For both, I was at the front for the first six or seven songs, but moved back a few rows where it wasn't quite as crowded. I few years earlier, I would h...

It is the first show of the tour and he's in his 70s. His voice sounds good. Don't know if he's singing along with any pre-recorded tracks - doesn't sound like it to me from that clip - but there's obviously vocal effects that allow his voice to be sustained longer or provide some echo, etc. That's ...

I'm not a big fan - they have a handful of decent songs, a couple of which probably qualify as classics - but almost everybody I know who has seen them live says they deliver a really good show. Loud, fun, lots of pyro, plenty of beer drinking, lots of crowd singing, etc.

I like most of what he did with the Waterboys and World Party. "Way Down Now", from World Party's first album is a great song. Wallinger didn't play on it, but he co-wrote the excellent "World Party" from the Waterboys album, "Fisherman's Blues".

Some of the old stuff - Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, for example - is alright. Kind of country/folk. There's some great old bluegrass that I like in small doses, but bluegrass purists might not like to be grouped in with country. Buck Owens and Carl Perkins were kind of a mix of country and rock, a...

This is case by case for me. If GN’R are gonna put out…not their best material and play it live, but they’re playing 3 hour sets including what everyone came to hear, fine, fair enough. They’re clearly not doing it for money or for their health. If RHCP are gonna put out…not their best material and...

That's Peter Gabriel solo, not Genesis. He left in '75, I think. I think it was the only old Genesis song he did on the Scratch tour. The vocals are great, I agree. Always wished that he added a Genesis song or two to his live shows later on in his career. Guess his solo catalog was strong enough wi...
