Re: Sharon Osborne......Dont get the hate
Agree with your main points, but my issue with her is how she treated other musicians. Standing up to record companies is one thing, but why screw over other, sometimes struggling, musicians? She just perpetuates the system Ozzy/Sabbath were so bitter about when they got screwed over by their manage...

Re: EVH.....if Randy had lived
If RR had actually gone back to school to get a degree in classical guitar he would have been out of the professional music game for a few years at least - he only had a high school GED as I recall, so he would have needed to first get a BA then go for a Masters. That is about 6 years of college, un...

Re: In act of defiance, MetalSludge CEO and Tuff singer Stevie Rachelle, rejects tour of the year, by the band Ghost
I saw Ghost when they opened for Iron Maiden. I had taken a buddy along who wasn’t really into metal. I ended up apologising to him about Ghost. They were embarrassingly silly live I thought. All good they are enjoying success but to me they offer absolutely nothing new and many others do that schti...

Santana, Faith No More, and the Rolling Stones. All in Germany. 19 years old. Spent the summer working on a dairy farm near Dortmund as part of a language immersion program. Fun times.

I’m sure it’s been said before on this forum, but is there a definitive reason why, with all of Ratt’s post Robin guitar player changes, Jake never rejoined the band as a FTM?

Re: Krokus’ 1983 Headhunter: Brilliant or Bogus?
I agree. HH is as good as any of the really good (maybe not great/perfect) albums of that era, but these guys could write songs and their lyrics were good for non English speakers. I think a great intro to them is the live album from a few years later, especially the live version of Long Stick Goes ...

Not a whore joke, and since no one laughed at my walrus joke so I share this with trepidation, but here goes: A gimpy white guy is taking a piss at a urinal and a big black guy comes and is taking a piss next to him. White guy looks over/down and says “Wow, how do I get one like THAT?” Black guy dec...

A strong second for Best of the Doobies. All you really need.
I’d add, in the “really good best of albums” 10 from 6 from Bad Company.

Re: Bob Seger - Nine Tonight - My Review
Slightly off topic, but when I encounter a Springsteen fanatic or a New Jersey native (generally one and the same), I’ll sometimes let drop that IMO Seger is superior to Springsteen in every way - songs, performance, consistency.
Try it sometime. Their reactions are epic.

Re: Were your parents scared of OZZY (Osbourne)?
I got into and WORSHIPPED Ozzy between Diary and BATM. This was between 6th and 8th grade. Parents (single mom) didn’t care but classmates and teachers at school were very freaked out by him and even metal head friends were cautious about publicly admitting they liked that “devil worshipper.” I took...

Neil Young and Crazy Horse with Patti Smith opening. A Match.com date took me and bought me dinner. NEVER liked Neil Young but it was a good show. Saw Soundgarden in the same venue (Patriot Centervin Fairfax VA) and they were terrible.

Roger apparently never wanted Kenny Jones in the band either. I for one liked Kenny’s drumming live on the old songs.

Walrus takes his car in for repairs. While he is waiting, he buys himself a vanilla ice cream cone, and gets a bunch of it on his chin. When he goes back to the shop the mechanic says “Well, looks like you blew a seal” and the Walrus says “It’s just ice cream I swear!”

Mike's background vocals and stage presence were so strong that he earned his 25% anyway in my book. I saw them 4 times with Hagar and 3 times with the Roth reunion but I never got to see the 4 all together at once. Mike's absence was palpable. Stage presence? Seriously? Dude has the stage presence...

Re: John Corabi book - any good?
I listened to it. Yes, a lot of early life details but still entertaining. Very interesting discussion of his time in MC and especially interesting how he came to contribute to The Dirt book and its aftermath. As rock bios go, I thought it well above average if not outright good.
