Doing good over here.
So you don't work at a boring office job anymore? What do you do? Still in the DC area?
I honestly am having trouble remembering user names except the main culprits. They change so much its hard to keep track.

Re: Any old school War Boarders still around?
KVP, I forgot about you for a moment but we used to message each other too. I love to brag about my french heritage even though I think I'm only 1/32nd french or something. Found out an ancestor of mine was a French huguenot that fled to the Netherlands and then America. He founded a town which is n...

Re: Any old school War Boarders still around?
Thanks for PMing me about this Stoner. I mainly stick to the gossip board. usually check it out once a day and post occasionally. i have officially gotten tired of arguing about politics on the internet....well aside from the occasional facebook arguments. I've expanded my music horizons quite a bit...

Enjoy!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4oTrQgFYFI&feature=search You know you must be one miserable SOB! I couldn’t stand Reagan but he was our president for eight years. And yeah he fucked up things pretty bad, but anytime one gets off on another human being dying (especially a fucking politi...

Re: The 2010 Official Canadian Football League (CFL) thread
Interesting stuff you mentioned. I obviously don't know much about Canada so this is all pretty interesting to me. I was also reading up on Nova Scotia and heard the economy is not doing great in that province. I didn't realize Quebec City had such a large university. You're also right about Ottawa ...

Re: The 2010 Official Canadian Football League (CFL) thread
I'm an American that has really gotten into the CFL this year (rather than slow ass NFL). Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the games tonight but holy shit were they both fucking crazy. Glad to see the Als on top (I'm a Habs fan too as long as they aren't playing Chicago or Ottawa). Sadly I don't ...

Believe it or not, they trash him all the time. Soft compared to how they brutalized Bush, but they certainly have not given him a free pass with much. Olbermann has devoted a few of his "Special Comments" to Obama, threatening it is just a matter of time before Bush's War becomes his war ...

Listen.. if it was a Republican President that this was happening under, the leading Democrats would be saying the same shit to him. So let's not pretend Romney is doing anything crazy here. All that said, Obama's response to this mess has been less than ideal. Thats true, but anybody calling this ...

Soldiers died to give us the day off work and grill hotdogs and hamburgers. If you are asking the president to work and not grill out, you are unamerican.

I actually got to tour Yankee stadium before it closed. While I was obviously impressed with the history, the stadium didn't appear to be anything special.
I must say however, Fenway does seem pretty damn cool and probably the only stadium capable of touching Wrigley as far as legacy.

Would it be OK if he went to a Cubs game instead? Personally I would avoid going to a ballgame in Chicago at any cost, regardless of team affiliation. That's kinda in the same list as Philly as far as "places I don't want to see a sporting event." Off topic but Wrigley is the fucking best...

Re: Obama skipping Memorial day wreath-laying at Arlington
Reagan did it in in '83
Bush did it in '92
You can't expect these people to be at every wreath laying ceremony can you?
Of course, in '83 Reagan's stand in was the Deputy Secretary of Defense I think.
And what's more disrespectful than having Dan Quayle represent the country?

Jake, if you fancy sending me the most literate one of that bunch (not that I hold out much hope) I'd appreciate it. I've not long ago read Al Franken's "Lies and the Lying Liars..."; I didn't find it very funny, but I have to admit, the research that went into it was impressive. Did you ...

PR should join the union and Vermont should secede so they don't have to change the flag. Fuck Washington DC. It's called a "district" and not a "state" for a reason, dammit! Yep, secede and become part of Canada. Buh-bye, Obamacare, hello, awesome Canadian health-care system. B...

Re: HR 2499 - Puerto Rican statehood
The original bill would have given Utah and extra representative making the number 437 in the House and evening out the two sides of the aisle. Now that is one horrible idea. The less influence Utah has over national politics, the better off we're all going to be. Well the idea was that it would be...

Heh, PR doesn't get taxed OR have representation. Make DC and PR states, that'll be a nice even 52. Even though DC is awfully small. I don't necessarily think DC needs to be made a state but they should get full representation in congress. They have tried to pass a bill to give DC one representativ...

Not sure about Puerto Rico, but there is no fucking reason in hell why DC shouldn't be given representation in congress.
Taxation without representation? Isn't that why those guys dumped a bunch of tea into that one harbor?
Why the fuck isn't the Tea Party supportive of this measure?

For violent offenders it should be used solely to separate them from society since they are dangerous. If there is a potential they will be released, obviously you need to rehabilitate them by a use of counseling, work programs, and treating them humanely while still not giving them a life of luxury...

Then of course there are women who had their breasts removed due to cancer. A boob job would definitely boost their self confidence and improve their quality of life but would likely be deemed cosmetic which isn't really fair. My old job had a plan decided on by the staff. The older members kinda ma...

That is such bullshit. Prime rib and mansions don't equate to a decent standard of living. You can live an excellent life without those. Life saving treatments do equate to a decent life and you sure as fuck won't have a decent life if you die from lack of treatment. And you're worried about a few e...

Way too complex Chick. Most people get lost when you start personalizing an issue because they refuse (or are just too dumb) to see things like that. Lets put it simply. With the public option poor people will get health care. With the public option poor people will not be able to buy a Porsche nor ...
