Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

Yeah buddy. Benoit still gave me indigestion like always. Now let us see if we can start hitting. We can't pitch like this every night.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

And its Miguel Cabrera for the AL MVP award. I thought it would be alot closer than it actually was but Mike Trout wasn't going to win with the Angels not making the playoffs.

Re: Let's go SF Giants!

Giants are loose and having fun, the Tigers are pressing. This will not end well. On another note, I was impressed with the interview with Romo last night. He seems like he'd be a fun guy to party with. Yeah the Tigers looked like they were going to a funeral on Wednesday while the Giants were gett...

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

And down go the Stankees yet again. Delmon Young ALCS MVP. He drove in more runs than the Yankees scored all series. Detroit starters 27.3 innings pitched. 2 earned runs allowed. I hope we canbring that to the WS.
Hopefully against SF.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

I think probly 7 myself. I just pray SF can knock out Stl. If we beat the Stankees I really don't want to see the Cards in the WS again. I still have nightmares about 06.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

And the Tigers go up 2-0 on the Stankees. How the ump called Infante safe in the 8th is beyond me  He was out by a mile but I'll take gift all day long. Girardi can cry about that all day long but the fact remains they didn't score any runs.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

Tigers up 2-0 on Don Kelly 9th inning sac fly. Helluva job Balfour. Walk Prince.....how'd that work out? Do or die in Oakland, even if they do they'll still have to face 11K Verlander. Ever felt like the weight of the world was on your shoulders? Hell I would have took that gamble with Kelly ...

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

And FINALLY the Brandon Inge saga is over in Detroit. He shoulda been released two years ago.
On another note, what the fuck happened to our offense. Detroit was supposed to be bashing our way to victory again and again instead we can't hit can't field and and can't pitch. Its 08 all over again.

Tigers sweep the Sox and the Rays sweep the Yankees. My weekend can't get much better than that. I know its only 3 games into the season but I still love it.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

Tigers sign Fielder to a 9 year 214 million dollar deal. I really think Dombrowski has lost his friggin mind. What are they going to do with Cabrera. I hope to god they don't try and move him back to third base where he is defensive liability and neither one wants to be full time DH.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

Breaking news!!! Justin Verlander has been named AL MVP. As he rightly should be. Took 13 first place votes along with 3 second and 3 third place votes. The voters should all be ashamed and recalled. The pitcher has his own award and an everyday player should also have his own. Here is an interesti...

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

I'm just wondering when the Tigers are gonna start hitting. 6 games into the postseason and we have yet to score more than 5 runs. Jackson, Avila and Martinez are combined 8 for 60! Another bases loaded and 1 out last night and Ordonez grounds into another double play.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

Not to mention that catch in the 6th or 7th were he looked like Superman flying thru the air. After that point Comerica was so quiet you could almost hear crickets. I've never been in a packed stadium that was so quiet. I think everybody there new the game was pretty much over at that point. What m...

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

A.J. is starting game 4 tonight. The guy might throw 7 innings of 2 run ball or get knocked out of the game by the 3rd inning. You never know :( Getting a W and returning to The Bronx for game 5 and Nova is what I'm looking forward to the most. Losing last night was awful. I really question the 1st...

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

Angels still alive in the wild card race. It's gettin' interesting... The biggest question for the upcoming Playoffs to me is, do any of you think that Detroit can win on the days that Verlander isn't on the mound? The Fister trade is working out pretty well for them. I'm just curious if they're go...

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

Verlander just picked up win number 24 with 8 shutout innings against the A's. It looks like he will win the pitching triple crown barring anything freaky happening in his next start. Still think he should get serious consideration for MVP as well.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

I think a pitcher should be eligible to get the MVP if they have a season for the ages and there are no positional players that have distinguished themselves. For example if a pitcher was to win 30 games and have an ERA around 1.50 then they most certainly can be considered most valuable, and shoul...

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

John Dewan's Stat Of The Week Which leads me to my third point. Justin Verlander just won his 20th game of the season today with a 6-4 win over the Twins. As the AL plays out and speculation widens about the AL MVP ( Gonzalez, Cabrera, etc ). If Verlander gets to 22-23 wins, do you think he could w...

Re: Best game you ever saw in person

Two games come to mind for me. Justin Verlanders first no hitter against the Brewers. I decided to go on a whim just to watch Prince Fielder mash a few balls in BP and maybe catch one if I was lucky. Didn't get a ball but JV more than made up for that. Second game was the game 4 of the ALCS in 06. O...

The problem with King Felix is he plays for Seattle who collectively couldn't hit a an elephant with a handfull of sand. If he ever gets out of there or they ever get some hitters he will probabaly be unstoppable. I would love to see the numbers he would have put up with those Seattle teams in the l...

Is Justin Verlander

The most dominant pitcher in the American league? Or in both leagues?
I think he is the best in the AL and damn close to being the best pitcher in baseball these days. Baring any injuries he could put up HOF numbers by the time he's done pitching.
Discuss.

Mine would be Wrestlemania 3 at the Pontiac Silverdome. I was sooooo far away I could barely see the ring but it was at the time the greatest thing to ever happen to me.
