Re: What if GNR song "One in a Million" was released today

Half of the USA would love it and the other half would hate it. Even if you removed the controversial lyrics/subject matter, it's a shitty song to me.

Re: That new Whitesnake song "Shut up & Kiss me"

I like it. It’s Whitesnake in 2019. Fuck do you expect? Coverdale sounds like he’s sounded for nearly ten years, the lyrics are the same level of generic they’ve always been. Solo’s good, and even though some of the women in the video look like they’re only women in the modern sense of the word, it...

Re: Cliff Williams back in AC/DC

I'd love to be in a meeting where AC/DC is planning their album. I bet Phil Rudd plays a beat for 12 hours straight, they play some As, Ds, Gs, Es (occasional F) and they have an album by end of day. A lot of people talk about how simple AC/DC's songs are and that anyone can write the songs that th...

Re: Bands that were more popular/influential among other bands than radio/fans

Stooges, Ramones, Descendents are the first ones that come to mind to me I gotta disagree about Ramones, sure they are influential to a lot of musicians but they have a lot of fans that are just big music fans. They have a lot of poseur fans too that just wear T-shirt’s, but they definitely have a ...

I subscribe to The New Yorker and Thrasher Skateboarding. Basically polar opposites of each other, but they're great for commuting via train. Just throw it in your bag/no need to worry if you're going to shatter an iPad or whatever.

Re: Big bands that fell off the map FAST

Not huge but decent- The Vines and the Hives from that early 2000's garage rock resurgence that fizzled. I'd mention The Strokes but they still have a decent following. LOVE The Hives. I'd put The Darkness on there. Both of those bands are favorites of mine, but when I tell people at work I'm going...

Re: Songs bands always play live - and you don’t know why

I’ll never figure out how these songs most always make their way into the setlist. They either suck, are average at best, weren’t hits, or are overplayed: Motley Crüe - Primal Scream Which regular set list inclusions irk you? Nikki demands his bass "solo" to compete with Bobby Dall's Ride the Wind ...

Re: Risingfarce’s Official Aerosmith Debut Album Thread!!!!!!

Couldn't really get into this one. Tyler sounds lile a completely different person. Joey Kramer and Tom Hamilton split most the vocals aside from the screams and a lot of Dream On for this album. Steven sang all of the subsequent albums. Huh, learn something new... Why was Tyler on the bench? I was...

I dare you to talk like Steven Tyler's First Album Voice for the remainder of the year.

I really like Mama Kin, Write Me a Letter, and One Way Street. Like all the others, but don't need to hear Dream On or Walking the Dog ever again.

Re: RIP Super Dave & Marty Funkhouser

I loved the scene in Curb when Larry tries to sit in Funkman's freshly dead father's seat at the LA Dodgers game. He won't let Larry sit in the empty seat (they were good seats), and says something like "Larry - this seat's spoken for."

Re: The end of the NY Dolls... the most recent time

I love the first album (could do with a few less track though), like the second, and there's some good stuff on the third. But yeah - that's a fizzle. Steve Conte and Sami Yaffa took them up a notch. I must have seen that line up 5 times between Irving Plaza shows and Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Once...

Used Air BnB a bunch - mostly in the USA and a few in times in Candada/Iceland. Nothing but good things from me. I haven't really had a bad experience - closest thing might be something like "looked nicer in the pictures on the site", but the places weren't dumps or anything.

I went to the show (got the $75 tix) last October. As a huge fan of Springsteen and the E Street Band, I don't usually like his acoustic solo stuff, but I really liked it live/in the theater. I turned it on the other day and wasn't really having it. Maybe cause I already saw it (though I've listened...
