Re: Maiden ‘Run For Your Lives’ setlist

I'm a little underwhelmed. I went to their classics tour in 2018 or 19 and was blown away.

If they played "Die With Your Boots On" or "Moonchild" I would be there though. Those are the ones I want that seem to never be in the serlist.

Nope. If Trivium played "The Crusade" maybe. That album doesn't get as much love as their Cookie Monster ones.

Nuno or DeMartini are good choices. When I saw "natural dexterity," I immediately thought of Shrapnel era Richie Kotzen.

"So Far" and I guess, "Lit Up."

Buckcherry weren't bigger because they just weren't that good. You have basically their whole catalog in those two songs.

Motley Crue - Saints Of Los Angeles

Stray Cats - Cat Fight

Fishbone - Estranged Fruit

Quicksand - Cosmonauts

A Tribe Called Quest - Space Program. There are so many good songs on this album though. Pick one.

Judas Priest - Judas Rising

Re: for guitar players: Gary Moore

IMO Ol' Gary's problem was that he couldn't figure out who he was... his early 80s hard rock didn't stick, so he went synth heavy, then back to rock/AoR, then he was a 2nd-rate SRV for awhile... great player with brilliant moments, but just couldn't catch fire commercially. I totally agree. Even th...

They were very good when I saw em in Sheffield a couple of years back. Down to a three-piece now so maybe not quite as chaotic as they were in the glory days, but still a damn good show. I'm curious of this as well. I've seen them bunch of times previously, but lost interest when Rontrose left. I l...

The answer is most of their covers. Choose one.

For originals, there is no such thing as a "worst Van Halen song." There are just some Van Halen songs you may not like as much as you like the others.

Yeah what did they "change"? They weren't nearly as influential as the Pistols or The Clash, not by a long shot. Those bands wouldn't have existed without them. False. They all started out at around the same time. I think they were an influence, probably, because that's what they fucking ...

Metallica changed everything. As much as or almost as much as The Ramones. The Ramones? Bullshit. They didn't change anything and were a glorified gimmick that went on way too long. Back in the day nobody took them seriously. If they say it now, they're fucking lying. Yeah what did they "chang...

Interesting to see all of the "I like the Fender tone, but Gibson plays better" because it seems like I've always heard the opposite from guitar player friends. I play Gretsch 6120s now more than any others. I have seven now. I bought an 5120 Electomatic from a pawn shop a while back to s...

As far as the crossover comments, Metallica didn’t do as much as some people think. Crossover was already a thing with bands like Cro-Mags, C.O.C., Agnostic Front and DRI. All before the Garage Days EP. And Metallica just basically “metalized” punk tunes, but they never sounded punk themselves. The...

Metallica changed everything. Nirvana was a pop band at the right time. Music ( especially rock/hard rock/metal ) was needing a change. Nirvana put the nail in the coffin, but Metallica put the bullet in the head. It was Metallica that inspired crossover. Metallica that bridged the gap between punk ...
