Re: Did you used to mosh/stage dive?
I did not. I WAS, however, the guy who would body tackle you if you jumped up on stage to do that shit for a number of years. It was kind of a highlight of the gig...some dumbass would jump onstage and didn't realize that there were multiple people watching them all the way up, calling dibs on who w...

Re: Early Pink Floyd
He doesn't do a lot of long-form interviews, but one I saw (I wanna say Bob Costa) he was saying how he felt everything happened at the right time for him, like, he hit when he had built the skills TO hit and the maturity to deal with it, and if it had happened earlier, he probably wouldn't have las...

Re: Early Pink Floyd
I think Pink Floyd is a great example of a band that needed a few albums to hit their peak. Unfortunately, the business has changed and record companies are no longer willing to make an investment in artists that might need to experiment and develop, both in the studio and live, before achieving le...

R.O.C.K. in the USA (John Mellencamp): Frankie Lyman, Bobby Fuller, Mitch Ryder, Jackie Wilson, Shangra-Las, Young Rascals, Martha Reeves, James Brown. David Allen Coe's Willie, Waylon and Me namedrops Willie and Waylon of course, and Long Haired Redneck drops Hank Williams and Merle Haggard in there.

Jeez. I didn't know he was THAT loaded.
I would have asked for another $5 per time I worked on his guitar.
You ever see that like $6000 Les Paul that Gibson just kind of let him have for no reason?

Every time I walk up the stairs past 60 guitars in cases into the guitar workshop you live in, I always think to myself: "What a bastion of comfort and beauty this is" Your former boss liked it! 70 million dollars, and all he wanted to do was sit on the couch in my living room. He was alw...

Tsk tsk. This fucking century.
The straight-manliest thing you can do is to decorate for comfort, beauty and utility. Y'all gotta get hip to William Morris, Gustav Stickley and the arts and crafts movement.

Jesus christ. Does anyone actually live in your house?
It looks like the empty place a realtor shows you and says: "Sure, it looks barren now, but imagine how homey it will be with YOUR furniture and DECOR!"
It is like, 70% less lived-in looking that those fake rooms at IKEA.

Oh man. When I was a young, I thought that anybody who had a record out or a video on MTV was rich and just living the goddamned life. First band I ever met and hung out with was Metallica. It was such an eye opener...they were basically poor as shit at the time (RTL tour). I traded a fucked up guit...

No, it was a pretty good experience $$$-wise all around. The show was one of a series of all-in for $20 shows, then the glowsticks were free. I guess Barry has enough money and respects and doesn't need to gouge his fans UNLIKE SOME OTHER OLDE PERFORMERS WHO DON'T DO AS GOOD A SHOW AND PLAY WITH TAP...

The arguable highlight of the show was when they passed out glowsticks during Copacabana, and you had 10,000 moms all doing a disco rave.
