Re: Jack Russell/Tracii Guns’ “Medusa” - my review
Complete and utter generic, assembly line shit, written by the Frontiers in-house writing team. Devoid of any soul. Could have been performed by any “super-group” they decided to form that week.

As many have said, not unexpected but very sad. Addiction sucks, and can turn a person who has “everything” into a person who has nothing in short order.
RIP. I enjoyed his work when he was well.

Re: Opening Act Hall Of Fame Inductees
Shocked Great White weren’t mentioned. Pre-fire, in the mid-80’s, they and Dokken were the go to opening acts if you wanted to bring in some extra fans and appeal to the hair metal crowd. Off the top of my head I remember them opening big tours for Priest, Whitesnake, Scorpions, and Alice Cooper. Ci...

Re: TESLA announces US Tour + Las Vegas residency
I was in Vegas this past Fall. Saw the residency on a Wednesday and liked it so much I went back Friday. Great venue for them, they do hits, newer songs, and deep cuts, and switch out between 3-5 songs every show. Best shows I saw this year.

Re: Judas Priest or KKs Priest Who would you rather see?
KK’s band is cringeworthy. Metal for meatheads, who only think a band is good if every song is fast and heavy. Totally generic crap. They sound like they can be 100 other bands musically, and Ripper oversings everything. At least Priest has some variety and nuance… the two songs released from the up...

Basically Spinal Tap, but not funny on purpose.
Wanna drive a Manowar fan crazy? Compare them to Poison… which I often do. If you call Poison poseurs for their lipstick and makeup, you similarly need to call Manowar poseurs for their schtick. Both image driven, middling bands.

I see some online pundits going nuts over it and I don’t get it. It’s OK… even good… but not great. I much prefer most of the material on the first Frehley’s Comet record, Trouble Walkin’, and even Anomaly. Hell… Kiss are getting flak for playing Say Yeah on the Farewell tour and I think that’s a be...

The 3/4 of the band that left/were fired formed The Gems, who also have a single out.
Both bands are decent but pretty generic. Very disposable music, but good for a 45 minute live set. Like female versions of Airborne, or The Donnas 20 years after the fact.

Agreed. Say what you want about Don as live performer, but he can still come up with hooks and melodies that are true to the band’s original sound. I also can’t say enough about the band… Levin shreds on this thing, and BJ Zampa and Chris McCarvill form a tight rhythm section. Production is good too...

He’s been doing these side hustles, with little fanfare, for years. He played a gig here in Montreal a few years ago, at a small theatre/community centre… charged like $80 a head and the entire Pilipino community showed up in droves.

Future Past Tour is what I think they're calling it. I had to look that up, you're right. So on top of recycling their own riffs, they have to steal Duran Duran's latest album title for their latest tour, pathetic! Other way around. Maiden announced their tour with that branding well before DD did....

Some of the comments here are hilarious… Did you expect more than 18 songs/105 minutes? They are old as fuck. That’s why you get a world class opener playing for an hour. Did you expect a set of 70’s rarities while they ignored the 90’s/2000’s? I don’t love the 90’s material, but it’s necessary. Thi...

Basically the guy is going to be a walking punchline for the rest of his career/life. Dave M. is very serious about his music and band; there’s no way he could tolerate having Ellefson around any longer.

If I can diverge from the love-fest… Good songs and performance, but the clip shows why the demand for 90’s bands on the nostalgia circuit is virtually non-existent, while 70’s and 80’s bands have been filling amphitheaters forever. There’s just nothing to see with these bands… 4 schmos in jeans and...

It’s an old show business tradition, derived from the theatre and vaudeville. No problem with it at all. I’d say more rock/metal bands do it than not. Usually it’s a good photo op too.
