Re: KISStard

Gonna ignore this weirdo's question..But I am curious if album sleeves always been the same size. I have the WASP F*ck like a beast album..is a full size record, but the sleeve is just a tad smaller then a normal cover. Always was a bitch to find in my bins of albums. I can't think of any album cov...

Re: Has anyone got any more of those facts?

Richie Sambora beat out Snake Sabo in Bon Jovi. After that, Snake promised himself he wouldn't try out for other bands. Yep. After Sebastian Bach got fired, Snake Sabo never had another hit. That doesn’t matter, it’s all about having a band you can get along with while driving your peppermint bus d...

Dylan mentions Neil young in “highlands”

Motley Crue mentions a bunch of celebs in ‘use it or lose it’

Neil young names Johnny rotten in ‘hey hey my my’

Def Leppard names major Tom, sgt pepper & others in ‘rocket’

I don’t necessarily have a fave, but “leave a light on” is at the top.

‘Wild boys’ is keyed at least a step too high - painful to hear

Re: Hair metal shows in 96/97/98

I remember Faster Pussycat played a laundromat! Never heard of LA Guns playing at a pizza place though! That sounds like fun actually! :) That couldn't have been the 90's though. Stacey Blades was in the band 2004-12. I saw LA Guns at a pizza place in 2019 I saw them a few years earlier at a really...

Re: Hair metal shows in 96/97/98

The one that stands out the most to me is when LA Guns played a pizza place in South Windsor, CT. It was the Riley/Lewis/Scotty line-up. I think they had the Stacy on guitar at the time. The band was so high, they barely made it though the show, and the small crowd that was there really thinned out...

Re: At this point would you rather see Vince Solo or Motley Crue?

John5 is a dorky clown who can really play guitar. He’s not even remotely suited for Motley. Especially since it seems that a lot of the “live” show is Memorexed……fuck that. Definitely Vince solo just as long as he would have a REAL drummer and not that clown Zoltan (or whatever the fuck his name i...

Well, this simply isn't true. I bought the CD. Was average at best. Nothing memorable on it besides the overplayed bumblebee song. If that dude wasn't in a GnR video and didn't die...they'd just be another one hit Wonder. Like the Screaming Trees. Screaming trees had several albums and were almost ...

The Great White debut doesn't even make top 5 of their catalog. Moving in a more faux blues/accessible direction, was the smartest thing they could have done. 100% off topic, 100% wrong Posting on my phone and not wearing my reading glasses...... but still 100% right about Great White. Re: guitar production question

Like VVV I always double with different tones. Only exception is if I’m doing a cover and the original artist didn’t. It varied in the 80s just like always. Van Halen didn’t in the Roth years. GN’R, AC/DC, and Aerosmith were similar in terms of one guitarist on either side. I’m pretty sure Motley d...

guitar production question

I know Tom Werman has a new book coming out and maybe he’d address this type of question. did guys in the 80s double their rhythm guitar tracks? I’m talking about note for note to fatten up the tone- ‘Too fast for love’ has that raw sound and ‘shout’ sounds more polished. I’d assume ‘too fast’ is on...

https://thefreewheeler.proboards.com/thread/26295/whitesnake-interesting-information-keith-olsen What really happened according to Keith Olsen is that Dann Huff had to come in and replace a lot of Sykes's guitar on 1987. Re: BACH to REPLY in 3, 2, 1 ... RACHEL BOLAN Confirms their Debut Album Was '98 Percent' Written Before BACH joined

It’s not really an either or question. Good songs & Back collided at the right time. But Bach’s charisma was a main reason. It’s similar to Alice In Chains - Jerry wrote the songs but Layne’s charisma is the main ingredient. Nobody knows the other 2. Same as Pearl Jam Bach’s charisma worked agai...

Re: Unveiling the Concept: KISS's "Animalize" and "Asylum" as Parts One and Two of a Rock Odyssey

It's a bit of a stretch, though I can see where the theory comes from. It might be more accurate, however, to say that Animalize and Asylum are basically Paul Stanley solo albums because Gene didn't give a fuck about making music at the time. That being said, the best tracks from each record would ...
