Re: Do you appreciate Nickleback more in 2024
Love 'em... always have. Herd mentality is funny when it comes to "hating" somebody or something just because everybody else does. I saw them in Vegas last year with Brantley Gilbert. Much better live show than any 80s band today, not even close. Acoustic Trixter... I'll always  :lol...

I would suspect every big 70's rock band played at the Spectrum at one point or another. It's not much different than asking who played the old Boston Garden

Re: Hands up, who called it "Power Age"
Maybe it's a Canadian thing or something, but I never heard anyone call it Power Age once in my life until reading on here. It's been powerage from day one for us. If they wanted it to be pronounced power age, why didn't they spell it that way, especially after they already had High Voltage?

Yes - if you don't like it don't buy it. Why would we deny someone the right to make music if they're musicians?

It wasn't their first gig, but I saw Loverboy in the summer of 1980 opening for Cheap Trick, and I think it was their sixth ever live performance. Saw them as openers four more times over the next 2-3 years.

You can hear Ace's leads all over the album. And some other parts from other players. Hard to tell how much rhythm guitar from Ace, maybe not much.

Re: New Ace record - Is it really him........?????
This was a collaboration, and the Steve Brown stuff is getting slightly out-of-hand. He did not write all the songs, he did bring in some songs and obviously worked with Ace on his songs. But to say Brown "clearly" wrote all the songs is conjecture and opinion, not "fact". Ace ha...

I've given it a full listen, as I always pull for good 'ol Ace. What I think is that if it was a 3 song e.p. of 10,000 Volts, Walking on the Moon, and Fightin' for Life it would actually be pretty good. As a full length album though it's about what you would expect from Ace in his 70's. Oh well, tim...

Well, it was 37 years ago and the quote is "I was headlining and I think we had the group the Donnas or one of those female bands.". So, whatever - it's not like a major gotcha or something.

Once again, rock and roll is a genre, not an "attitude". They need to change the name to the Popular Music Hall of Fame. There is obviously nothing "rock and roll" about Sade and the like. Nothing against their music.

Re: AC/DC may be about to announce a tour
AC/DC is a little like The Stones. As long as Brian and Angus are there they can keep going just the same as Mick and Keith. Looking at AC/DC Brian and Angus are the whole show as far as stage presence is concerned. The other guys are just part of the scenery. Not many will care who's playing bass ...
