Nice thread, It's warm in here.

My Ex checked the structural integrity of my last acoustic, and I never replaced it. My Guild S300D is a great solid body, but I need a good acoustic too. Today we went about to pawn shops and music stores and I finally found a 73 Guild acoustic for $699. It is near flawless, blemish free but I don't like the string height, they seem like they are 1 times the thickness of a E string too high at 24. It sounds good but I am waiting till Monday to have a Luthier check it for me. There is also a nice old Gibson for $850 on Craigs list I will look at tomorrow.

Yeah! They're the ones that make the basses for Tom Petersson.

Picked up a PRS SE Singlecut the other day:

Lookin' for pickups that would handle higher gain well. Any recommendations? Been thinkin' of a Duncan 59/Custom 5 set.

I'm trying out a set of WB pick ups. They are supposed to scream, but remain articulate.

Got a friend that RAVES about 'em, but not sure I want to spend $500 in pickups for a $500 guitar

EDIT: Whoops, thought you were talking about WCRs. Never heard much about WB pickups. How do you like 'em so far?

Just waiting for the build to finish.

WCRs are great, but I think they will run closer to $250 a set.

In fact, I'm having an UltaViolent put in my 1 p/u LP Custom.

I'm also putting a pair of P90s into a LP Special.

I used to own a red 1 p/u Standard I sold to SatansChicken. Also the payless guitars site has a 1 p/u Gold Top counterfeit.

This is my Rist 1 p/u Custom next to my Special that's almost refinished.

So Tracii you getting that Max or what?

Figured I'd drop a few pics of my regulars -

'05 Honeyburst Standard Faded - SD59's -my #1
Image

'06 ESP ECLIPSE II/Jonesy trib - custom wound bridge/80's Gibson neck
Image

early 80's Burny LP Custom - SD59's unpotted
Image

'06 Melody Maker 59RI - SD Hot Rails
Image

'68 Guild D-35 bear claw spruce top - this thing is awesome in spades
Image

'96 American Standard/50th Anniversary - custom wound bridge/SD Vintage neck - FOR SALE pm me if interested
Image

Not shown because of repairs or resto work - '86 Gibson CS Melody Maker, '62 SG/LP Custom, kustomized Strat. I usually run these through a Peavey Windsor 1/2 stack or a Line6 Vetta II rig.

Thanks, you always have some cool pieces in your collection it looks like.

I'm not big on pedals but I have a few -

Duncan Tweakfuzz
EH DR.Q
Boss DD-3
Morley A/B

That's about it. I program the Vetta with what I need for recording but live I use the Peavey and I run straight in. I am a complete f/u with pedals live.

2) Aphex Guitar Exciter
3) Boss DF-2 Distortion Feedbacker
4) Broken MXR Micro Flanger

Anyone need anything?

I've got a set of Don Mare Super Sports coming soon; going in my '68 Paisley reissue tele.

Other than that, still haven't decided on a set for that PRS...already thinking of a replacement neck humbucker to replace an Alnico II Pro in a Les Paul of mine...think I might do a Pearly Gates in the neck as well.

No, sadly. If he did, THOSE would be killer.

He recommends the Seth Lovers from Duncan as far as the humbucker alternative.

I just did a layaway on a Fender '62 Reissue Strat. Limited run of 250 Flametops.

Normally, I'm not big on Strats, but this one is cool and ya gotta have a Strat.

While much of my rig is just better than entry-level, and thus nothing to drool over, I did just pull the trigger on what looks to be the king motherfucker of all gig bags:

I've always used whatever came with my basses (which is usually fairly plain), so it's nice to indulge in something quality for a change.
