I just want to be able to throw some chord changes down and play over it through my amp.
One question...you don't need another amp for this do you? Playing a Soldano head through a marshall cab....thanks guys!

Weren't you just demonstrating your cool harmonizer? How is that so different?
the difference between getting a bass player or getting two other guys to play a 3rd above and below you is vast...
It's still using a device to replicate another musician playing with you - which I am all for, by the way. One is just for creating harmonies, while the other is for creating rhythm parts and could ALSO be used to create harmonies.
I know you like Brian May, remember the delay guitar harmonies in Brighton Rock? That's what i'm talking about, not the same as his orchestral harmonies but there are ascending harmonies created using a delay.

I still think it's a bit different.
I can't imagine having two guys standing onstage whose only purpose was to do harmony bits on maybe one song per night.
...as opposed to a bass player...
Mind you, if I did have two guys just to do a couple harmonies, I would be a TOTAL pimp...

Well he's NOT onstage, he's jamming at home with just a drummer, so unless they are trying to do a White Stripes kinda thing, it doesn't sound that serious. Most bands live usually only have 2-part guitar harmonies, and it's usually the guy who also plays rhythm who plays the second part. He has something to do when harmonies aren't called for.
Like I said, I am all for such thngs, but if you use a harmonizer instead of hiring 2 more guitarists, it seems silly to tell someone not to use a looper to lay down a rhythm to solo over. It's close enough to the same thing to be well out of the purist's realm.

Lerx, yeah...we're just having fun. Two buddies jamming.

I have seen some pretty wild shit done by one guy with a looper on Youtube vids. I don't have any links at my fingertips but just been on guitar forums a few times where somebody linked a video and said "Look at this guys!". Have fun with it!
I kind of did like he did, started at #1, and when I got to #3, started wanking, and stuck with that one. It's basically fender making it sound like their idea of a perfect overdriven tweed amp.

Any recommendations on a replacement?
The tank itself died? Might spray some contact cleaner into the RCA plugs and jacks, if it's set up that way, just to make sure the connection isn't just oxidized; that's common. If the tank is really gone, Accutronics reverb tanks sound awesome.

what he said. Wiggle stuff around as well.
If you do replace it, it isn't a huge cost...but there is a code stamped on it that will tell you the resistance and what king of tank it is. You gotta make to sure to get the correct replacement resistance-wise, but you have a little latitude after that...for instance you can get tanks with longer or shorter decay times.
..so...um...yeah. This could be an OPPORTUNITY.
