I need a wiring schematic for a Kramer F 6000. I cant find what I need on the net so I thought Id ask here.
What's the pickup, switch and knob config for that? A generic wiring config will work and Dimarzio and Seymour Duncan have diagrams on their websites. You can also go to Guitar Fetish if you need pickups and are on a budget, a number of their pickups can be wired using Seymour Duncan color codes. StewMac also has diagrams, I think.

You could Google "Guitar pickup wiring diagrams" and get a buttload of links if these are not enough. You would probably never find anything by the model number though. I hope this helps.

Realistically, he already has more chops than he would ever need to make it big - though of course I encourage him to continue to expand those horizons.

Tell him the story of Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, and Tony Fredianelli of Apocrypha and then 3rd Eye Blind. Rivers fronted an Yngwie Malmsteen tribute, and Apocrypha was one of the vaunted Shrapnel shred bands. Both these guys realized there is only so much room for the Vais, Malmsteens and Loomises. Look at Chris Broderick - he is really as good as Loomis, and even though Megadeth is a high-profile gig, he is not the man in charge. Loomis will always chart his own destiny.

Not that Rex couldn't be the next Loomis - in fact it's more than obvious that he can and will, if he goes that route.

But who has more money and adulation, Jeff or Rivers? I'm sure Rivers can still bust out the shred if he wants, I would love to observe the garage jams at his house! Just food for thought.

After having my eye on one for a while, scored an Ibanez JEM 505 used a few days ago. Got a great price and it's in awesome condition. Have to get it properly set up, but the neck feels great (and it's perfect for my hands). Probably look into switching out the pickups, too.

Maintenance question: This is the first maple fretboard for me. Can anyone recommend a good maple fretboard cleaning product? I've tried looking online but haven't come up with anything conclusive....

trying out the ModTone delay pedal...got it for 40 bucks, so who knows. I didn't feel like dropping 200 bucks on a Krank Psychoplex....so we'll see. It should be coming in the post today.

Also, thinking of doing another project guitar. Maybe a beat up old strat, or a beat up old LP. It s much easier finding a beat up strat body than an LP one though. Haven't decided what to do yet...in the planning stages.

Anyone have any extra bodies laying around?

When fixing your own cables, what's the best source for buying multiple connectors, shields, etc? Also what're the most reliable brand of affordable connectors?

Two:

1. If he only wants cash, say NO TRADES. You're going to get some guy with a set of African drums wanting to trade for your American Strat.

2. You're going to get lowballed from a lot of people. Be sure to list a price that will allow for "wiggle room" and don't take any shit from anyone.

Craigslist has been great for me at times and terrible at others. You have to weed through a ton of jackoffs to get to the honest buyers.

The ModTone Delay is really cool. Very simple, but effective. Just a little touch of delay goes a long way. No sound problems, crystal clear and only 40 bucks total. Great deal.

I have one. It's fantastic considering the price. Most of the amp models and effects are great and the 40 second looper with drum patterns is killer. It's perfect for practice and home recording. Oh yeah, and the thing can run on AA batteries, so it's portable.

There's a B3 for bass coming out soon. I'll be picking one of those up too.

I saw a few in great shape go for $125 or so on an auction site (not eBay) so I wasn't too sure...
