That's a beauty!A nice Jr.is next on my list I think.I've always loved the sweet tone of those guitars.

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago when out local Gibson dealer had an after-Christmas sale on.Just yer basic SG Standard. They had 4 of them, two cherry and two black.I went with the black because it reminded me of the one Tony Iommi used to play. This one's really resonant, even unplugged you can hear the tone of the wood ringing through.I'd never really tried an SG before but I was impressed at how comfortable it is to play.I'm not a big guy so I can understand now why Angus likes them so much lol

That Pelham Blue Jr. is beautiful I was playing one the other day trying to justify another guitar, love it.

Going to put the '69 SG up for sale & hope to be picking up a 2x12 cab this week. Other than that not much GAS-ing going on.

Effects send - Roland - Alesis - BBE - Effects return. They are old units but good products. Most people use multieffects nowadays and just have one device with one rackspace, but for stuff that is 25 years old they will produce good sounds. With the BBE especially, less is more of the BBE process. It is kind of like taking a blamket off of your amp in that it opens up the sound. You may or not find much use for the compressor in your guitar rig, more of a sound reinforcement device.

I found some User Manuals for ya....

Roland SDE-1000 Delay - http://media.rolandus.com/manuals/SDE-1000_OM.pdf

Alesis 3630 - http://www.alesis.com/3630

BBE Sonic Maximizer - http://www.bbesound.com/products/default.aspx

You might need to dig around for the correct model of the Sonic Maximizer, but they do have the manuals on the site...

 Drag since the delay was really the pearl of the score! You may want to try getting a can of control/contact cleaner from Radio Shack for like $8 and clean all the contrls and plugs. Take the tops of the chasss off to expose the potentio0meters and you'll see slots in the back of each. That's where you spray the contact cleaner. On the inpouts and outputs, sometomes there are little switches built in that oxidize and get stuck on one position.

It doesn't always work, but I have revived dead guitar amps, power amps, effects units and even an old Yamaha synth this way. It's cheaper than a visit to a tech and you can do it yourself easily.

UNPLUG EVERYTHING FROM THE WALL AND YOUR OTHER GEAR BEFORE DOING THIS!!!!! Safery first!

If these things don't work, sadly they are not really worth having fixed compared to newer gear that is available cheap. But the BBE is worth having. If that doesn't work in the loop by itself, you may have a problem with the loop itself. Does it have a level control or a switch for line vs. pedal signal level?

Whoa! got it to work! I just messed with the effects level by the loop...seems to make a difference! All the knobs are working...no led readout by the input level indicators...Thanks TJay for the links to the manuals! Ill have to mess around with it...but I can hear the delay...any cheat settings out there?

I have a suggestion for that Melody Maker;

Take in the "waist" about a 1/2" on each side
Dig in the cutaway about a 1/2" also (makes it deeper/sharper)
Do a pickguard like a Zemaitis!

Sorta like this:

No not this one, maybe someday. I was thinking of doing a metal top like on a Z but the cost was insane.

I've played a handful of older Z's and they are pretty rough guitar for the most part. I did like Keith's pearl top though.
