Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
So, I just got an interesting amp.
Randall RM100 MTS like this one:
It's one of their modular pre-amp models...right now this one has a Vox module, a JTM45 module and a Dan Donnegan 1086, which is just kind of a hot-rodded marshall kind of thing.
It's kind of fun, and I can't wait to start getting some of the cool, custom made modules that are out there...everything from recreations of Tweed Twins to Vampowers to a module specifically designed to be like Randy Rhoads' amp.
SHOULD BE FUN.

Those Randalls are what my entire biz is based around....We have some of the most exciting stuff coming out. Sleek is just getting started...Our modded modules include the likes of Orange, Mesa, Marshall, Bogner, Diezel, ENGL, Framus, Fender, Dumble, Vox, Matchless, Friedmans, Kasha, Cameron Mods, you name it, we make it .... And you won't believe how close to the real deal these babies are....All hardwired and high quality components...

I've got a buddy who has one of these, in a stack though. I have to admit, the modules sound really good.Sleek wrote:So, I just got an interesting amp.

The Mr. Scary is a fun mod to play but doesn't touch the quality of the modified mods by Salvation and MotorCity- those are an entire level up. That being said, RandallEddiesCancerTongue wrote:I've got a buddy who has one of these, in a stack though. Is that an MIM replacement neck? How are those? Did you have to do any leveling and crowning? Nut filing required?sirthx wrote:Partcaster: MIM body, new maple neck, Fender locking tuners, 57/62 PUPs, new volume/tone pots, cloth wiring.
I'm debating between one of those (rosewood) and a Warmoth for my next partscaster.
Are you adding a string tree?

Was killing time in the acoustic room at GC a few weeks back. Picked up a Yamaha FG700S that played and sounded so good, I walked out the door with it. Only $199.

I think the quality can vary, but I've played some of those that were really nice, too. Especially for the price!

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
Got a brand new G&L Legacy Deluxe Blackburst just like this one from Rawson's Music here in OKC. I'm loving it so far. What's you guys opinion on G&L guitars that have messed around with them especially if any of you have played a Legacy Deluxe? First Guitar with a tremolo arm so that's taking some getting used to although to be honest 99% of the time I'm not even playing with it on there. Only thing I changed was took off the stock G&L tuners and had some Schaller locking tuners installed. Fucker stays in tune like a dream.

Nobody with any experience with G&L's?
Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I've busted my butt for nearly 16 of my 25 years stage experience to be just as good of a backup vocalist as I am a guitar player. My gift...to me. "Look ma, no cords!"

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
Gibson 61 humbuckers sound great in it . The feel has it for me though. Got a little more
weight to it than my other LPs (LPJs actually). I don't know what it is about the zero
fret nut, but it feels like sustain for days.
Seems like an upgraded Studio.

Congrats, AndiiChrist. How do you like the tuners? They're the automatic ones, right?
This piece of fucking awesome will be arriving Wednesday.

Loving the self tuning feature, haven't fucked with alternate tunings yet but makesMojo wrote:Congrats, AndiiChrist. How do you like the tuners? They're the automatic ones, right?

it easy getting back in with the press of a button. Ryan Roxie sold me on this system
a couple years ago.
Nice Gretsch, love the Imperial tuner heads!
Sweet Bigsby too!

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I wish they'd make locking tuners with the Imperial heads. Changing strings on a Bigsby without locking tuners sucks.

Wow, that's fucking beautiful.
Explain something about auto-tuners to me though...
When you downtune, generally you have to pull on the string at the 12th fret a bit and then re-check and tune back up a touch to stop from going grossly out of tune mid song.
How do you pull that off if the tuners do all the work? I probably sound like an idiot but it scares me about as much as "self parking cars".

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I've never done that. Granted, I don't play in drop D very often, but when I do, I just detune the string, tune it up to D, and have at it. I never tug at the 12th fret, and didn't know I was supposed to. It never goes out of tune, on any of my guitars.Triumph wrote: How do you pull that off if the tuners do all the work?
