I guess I should mention that it way hotter than we are used to when it rains, so it's extremely humid and gross. We don't get many summer storms.metalslayer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 6:28 pmIt is the same here in San Diego, except for the earthquake. It's 7:12 PM now and it's raining pretty hard, but still no wind.
We had a little earthquake at about 4:15 PM. That was weird. I don't remember ever having an earthquake when it's raining.
So far, no wind, thunder or lightening. Pretty sure this is not a hurricane or tropical storm or whatever. It's raining, that's all.
I cooked a batch of home made salsa, and the Serrano chilis were spicier than this storm so far.

My backyard is a lil pond, but that happened earlier in the year too.
Just worked out in the garage with the garage door open for breeze. it was raining, but not enough for the rain to come in the garage. Have the windows open in the house now too.
Here I am! Rock me like a slightly heavier than moderate rainy day!

It's been so bad here in Vegas. We have so many dark clouds right now! We even had heavy rain for 15 minutes at a time. It's going to be difficult to recover from this, but... #VegasStrong baby!

Welcome to east coast hurricanes. Days of, "it's coming", and the it goes somewhere else or weakens before it reaches you. However, the going somewhere else is also to SOMEONE else.

Saw a video of water rushing through the LINQ parking garage. Does not bode well for the underground community of misfits that someone mentioned earlier in the thread.

Lotta flooding in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area. I wonder how ol' Landshark2000/Sharkie is holding up? Doesn't she live there?

I enjoyed Hurricane Hilary
I survived 1.8 inches of rain hell. I think that’s some record
Not sure how people survive Hurricane season..it’s worth the hype
I’m no pussy no umbrella on the beach for me. Those athletes train all year and some disrespect them watching in long sleeve shirts and umbrellas? F*ck them
My day didn’t change I walked in In N Out late night during heavy drizzle like it was just another sunny day..shorts- Rainbowbash shirt- in beach Crocs
I’m glad Huey survived- thanks for update!
Haven’t heard from Sleek- that’s a good thing- we all can’t beat Hurricane Hilary

Re: California, what’s up with the hurricane?
I was in Orange doing some recording yesterday and heard it coming down pretty hard. Had plans with some friends to see the Metallica show broadcast at the theater down the street later that night but we called it off.
It ended up being pretty much like any other rainy day, but as I’d imagine most Floridians would tell you, this isn’t a situation where you want to get caught with your pants down. It wouldn’t have been fun to come out of the theater only to find out the 5 freeway was flooded and closed.
