"The Toughskins Army" my new song about growing up 70s style

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Not sure what you were going for..... What were you going for?

At least you're inspired to create and keep creating.

First, I wanted a song worthy of gay porn.

Huey, honestly Saturday Night by the Bay City Rollers was the inspiration. I wanted to write a song full of 70s references. There are things I could have done better with it but I didn't want to put too much time into it, it was just a random thing. I like it.

Somebody made the weirdest comment "if you grew up during that time how did you turn wrong" in case that person lives a sheltered life here is The Tragic Truth: a whole lot of people possibly even a majority from that time - and anytime - turn wrong. And you disrespect those tragedies by throwing me in with them because of a goofy f****** song. If that's a red flag for you I feel sorry for anybody in your vicinity.

I listened to it. twice. Noting wrong with it. Has some early Bowie, Devo influences in there and maybe Alice Cooper clones thrown in. You can't beat the 70's and the iconic images and toys and though some of the lyrics are missing in your notes, I dig it. There is an audience for it. Find an online station that plays this type and submit it. I have heard far worse that's being played .Carry on.

E for "EFFORT"?

Sorry. Not musically for me, though; I was in my prime childhood in the 70s.

Thanks, keyofgee. It's sort of unusual to get a rational thoughtful response, insult-free.
The lyrics are kind of specific so I can see a random listener might feel alienated by the tune. But you get it. Its for our generation. Period. I mean, going in without even knowing what Toughskins were would be a lost cause..
I tried to cram everything in there but there's just too much great stuff from that era

I made it just past the 2 minute mark and had to tap out!

WTF....

The best part of this entire production... is that you felt the need to add this at the bottom!

Yes, exactly!
That's why I saved it for the end!

Truthfully though, this song has a better chance of getting ripped off than any song Tuff ever put out. No hooks, no dynamics, no range...

It's easy to come on here and just take swipes at any and everything. I work with people everyday that want to stay on the negative side of a battery in life too and have nothing good to say about anything. Even if there is some good in it.
I try not to sit on the negative side. I will admit some times I do "go there" but I rather be remembered as a nice guy than a butthead. Dr. Demento made a fortune playing songs like this one. Weird Al is one for example that got his start and career with an odd song on his program. I would suggest making a video of it too, (seriously). Make it as odd and fun as the song is. It may get traction or not but it's your creation. Keep creating. The haters that hate, just for hating...ignore them.
In fact, I got a friend that plays stuff like this on his radio program and I am forwarding him the link. Who knows, you may get some plays there too.

I know what you mean. The internet has revealed vastly more ill-will than positivity. I'm usually only negative in response, and I can get pretty brutal but I think it's known I'd rather be friendly. But it's not just here, I never understood how fans of very niche genres of limited general interest argue with and insult each other. I prefer the idea of bonding over unique commonalities.

But thank you for the nice words. It was very nice to see after reading "you suck you suck you suck" LOL And per your recommendation I'm going to hit up a friend of mine who makes videos. And it is very cool of you forwarding the song to your buddy.

Are you a music maker yourself?
