Nevermore going on stage shitfaced during the Obsidian Conspiracy tour. There was fan report after report of this unprofessional behavior.

Jesper Stromblad's downward spiral and diminishing role in In Flames in the 2000s.

Metallica. Load. Nuff said.

Anthrax, "I'm the Man." Took decades before people took them seriously again
Lange helped bring High n Dry out of the band that created the abomination titled "On Through the Night." No Lange and Leppard would have died.

Agree. I couldn't believe how crappy the movie was. The solo records weren't much better.

I was a huge Kiss fan starting with Kiss Alive and by 1977-78 the band was on top of the world.

Yet, by 1980 they had become a joke.

I went to Best Buy and got Belly to Belly. Went home and listened to it. Was so disgusted at how shit it was I promptly got up and went back to Best Buy and told them it wouldn’t play in my player. Since it was opened I should have gotten the same disc but there were no more copies so I was able to pick something else. I ended up with Van Halen Best Of as far as I recall. I don’t think I’d ever been moved to take a cd back to the store the same day after one listen before or since.

This is the winner. No band has ever gone from Rocker to Shitter in one swift move. I liken it to a non metal ELP with Works Vol 1. Emerson, the bands rock writer, wanted to do concertos. They went from an energetic live act to a snooze fest. And I'm talking about both bands

In my opinion there are a lot of great songs on that LP and a lot of great guitar riffs. But to each their own.

Agree there. They had such a cool mystery about the band. Then you see Ace "act" like a fucking drunk moron saying "ack". It killed everything I thought was cool about them.

When Johnny “let’s” RObbie sing 3-4 songs live. Horrible. Always bolt for a piss and beer line.

We can debate when the GGD went to shit often. But Robbie is terrible and should sing live. Ever.
I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

Dream Evil is better than Sacred Heart. The filler is less obvious on DE, SH feels very much like they ran out of songs- or Sweet Savage riffs - in the middle of recording it.

Could Have Been a Dreamer was a bad choice for single though. Not sure if Dio could have a hit in 87-88 at all but absolutely not with that forgettable song.

Of course he does, they have been together for almost 40 years. With that being said, I disagree. I love the Robbie songs both live & on record. Another Second Time Around & Amigone are excellent.

I remember a radio announcer commenting that you could hear November Rain playing, and hear the greatest band in the world throw it all away as the song droned on.

I riled at the time, but in hindsight think he may have been right.

You can be successful and shit. No-one will disagree that McDonald's is one of the biggest food companies in the world but their "meat" is a blend of factory scrapings, rat droppings and corn starch served in the blandest excuse for "bread" that exists. With a gherkin. So it's quite reasonable to argue that Motley went to shit in terms of quality after SATD, whilst also being incredibly successful, because the mass market will gulp down shit and ask for seconds if it's packaged right.

My pick is Manic Street Preachers after Richie disappeared. They went straight to dad-rock and the last time i saw them live, at a festival circa 2007, they had keyboards on their fast+furious, heavy guitar early songs. Fucking awful. They should have retired the old band name and carried on playing as something else.
