Jason Bieler has always come across like a dick.......
"The Lizard" has a some really good stuff on it, but the album is brought down by the instrumentals and joke songs.
Band probably would have done better if they came out a year later and were lumped in with the "Grunge scene" (Alice in Chains, Nirvava, Pearl Jam, etc.)?

This whole thing confuses me. I had to look up that album they're touring - it flopped.
So they're a one hit wonder, but they want to go out and tour a later album that flopped without the singer that sang their one hit?
What's the money in that? $1,500 a night?

In the "predictions for 2024" thread a few weeks ago I guessed SK in the "who will reform?" Q. Looks like that was as solid as VVV's recent football predictions. But really, this is 3 bald men fighting over a comb.

Saigon Kick had a hit in Indonesia with "I Love You" from Water. Is a promoter willing to fly them out?

They were perfect for the time. Had the right image and everything - the long sleeves and shorts look. Saw them open for Warrant in 1992. While the bottom was about to drop out for Warrant, Saigon Kick felt like the future and were great live.
They fucked up by including "Love is On the Way" on the album, which got them pop airplay, but killed them in the "cool factor" department.

It’s too bad that we can no longer count on Varone’s coke dealer to weigh in.

That was fairly entertaining. Who does a 30th-anniversary tour, 31 years later, for an album nobody owns?

Water has a lot of good stuff on it. Nice cover of Space Oddity. Played my copy today.

Probably wants to tour without singer so make a reason
Saigon first two better than Motley Crue first 2
Saigon Kick real reunion BIG in my world
Blessed to see Saigon Kick few times last decade or so- walking in Viper Room tunnel then upstairs to the stage for Saigon better than all Bon Jovi shows I’ve seen

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Yeah those stupid songs really kill the flow on an otherwise great album. I prefer Water.Wild Obsession wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 5:49 am Jason Bieler has always come across like a dick.......

I own Water. I like it. If they came within 100 miles, I’d make an effort.

If that. They are truly a one hit wonder. And even that wasn’t a very big hit. Probably most famous for having the dirtbag drug/porn drummer.FreddyFender wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 7:36 am This whole thing confuses me. I had to look up that album they're touring - it flopped.

I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

My god, how exhausting it was to read this. I feel it was my sludge duty to read all of the FB posts from SK.
I agree with another poster said. Jason always came across as a dick. Not Blotzer level. But also not really a good guy either like others.
That being said. Water was the only album of theirs I liked.
I heard they are playing at the machine shop in Flint. That’s a solid 30-40 mins for me. Not sure I can bothered to go let alone google what night it is.
I would rather watch Shark Tank.
