Motley Crue "Dogs Of War" full song
Here it is:

I guess my biggest surprise is the production. With Bob Rock producing it, I figured it was gonna sound like real studio sounding song. Instead, it sort of sounds very processed? I'm not sure that's the word for it, but it sounds like a song that was done on a computer and not in a real studio. It doesn't like something that could be mistaken from being off Dr Feelgood for example. Maybe it just sounds modern sounding. I'm an idiot, what do I know? Vince sounds fine, the riff is cool, but it also doesn't sound like Motley Crue either. With that being said, I'm glad the lyrics aren't about Motley Crue kicking ass since 1981, but also, it's kind of boring too. Not sure how many times I'd revisit this song. Overall I guess it's adequate. Not a total embarrassment but not anything anybody needs to hear again.

Oh....and the song is absolute crap.

I made it about a minute
Re: Motley Crue "Dogs Of War" full song
I mean, it's about what you'd expect. MC haven't made anything like their "classic sound" since well... those albums.
Everything they've put out has tried to sound "modern" and this is no different. Add the overall lack of inspiration "Alright, I guess lets throw an album together" and here you are.

I liked the part where Vince told me down down down down, so I turned it down, and then off, cause it sucks.
Re: Motley Crue "Dogs Of War" full song
And I thought their Like A Virgin cover was horrible and they could do no worse
I stand corrected

All the recent songs they recorded sound this way.. guessing they think it helps them sound modern. The last song that sounded a bit more raw to me was "Sick Love Song"....that was 20 years ago.LitaStrauss wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 9:40 pm I guess my biggest surprise is the production. Hopeless, generic slop.
Re: Motley Crue "Dogs Of War" full song
They need to get whoever is writing for Bach and Ace to help..cause that was not very good...
The intro riff is kinda like Dr Feelgood..and gave me some hope, but nope. Couldn't make it through the whole thing.

Hogs of War would be more fitting.

Anyone notice the cover art and how “thin” Vince became overnight ?
Song is meh
Sounds like a beer run song during a Vince solo show.

I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

These guys lost the plot a long time ago.
They don't understand what Motley Crue is anymore.

This song ties in nicely with the guy in the other thread who said lyrics don't matter.

That's about how far I made it. Another Crue single, another shitty attempt at trying to sound like a current hot band.

Re: Motley Crue "Dogs Of War" full song
I always wonder who advises whom on music, TV, and movies. As an average consumer, one can often watch a show or listen to a song and conclude it will quickly get canceled or a song will go nowhere. Yet, people who make those decisions for a living often make the wrong decision to greenlight something. Much of the time, I'm right, but they aren't.
Re: Motley Crue "Dogs Of War" full song
for crue, well, its not old sckool crue, and its missing that biting Mars tune from the early albums. The chorus reminds me of GNR's "Better" chorus.

I don’t care that this a complete 180 from their classic sound….I just want to hear a good song. This is far from a good song. Besides the generic riff and lack of any hooks, Nikki forgot how to write engaging lyrics. The fact that they are going to play this song live in place of something such as Ten Seconds to Love is a travesty. Doesn’t affect me because I would never go see them again anyway because of their lazy performances.

Re: Motley Crue "Dogs Of War" full song
Now this I believe Nikki wrote for sure. Actually if you go to any AI service and tell it to write you a Motley Crue song this is about what it's gonna spit out.
I am always down for new music. But I'm not delusional.
This is garbage. It might be the single lamest song they've ever done which is a major accomplishment.
The lyrics are just.....beyond amateurish. This feels like a song a garage band of 17 year olds would write to sound dangerous.
I like Vince's tone. He is still perfectly capable of getting it done in a studio. I wish he'd just go solo and get some collaborations with people who can write for his style and current ability. Even he deserves better than this trash. A Mick/Vince album written by somebody with a clue would have a chance to be good. This song is DOA.
This is why I listen to country and 70s shit. The 80s dudes are frauds and washed up and need to get lost.
Like this isn't even B Side worthy. This wouldn't even make a Skid Row albums final cut. Seriously.
The fact such an untalented hack like Nikki Sixx is a millionaire proves our world is somebody's joke. There are starving musicians playing bars with more ability and sense than Nikki has or ever did. Luckiest dude ever.
I bet Rob is laughing at John. Like you left me for this?
If you can't tell I hate this song. I'm angry at how bad it is.

How the fuck does this band keep getting worse?
I didn't think they could outsuck "Sex," "All Bad Things," and all the garbage on the Dirt soundtrack.
They did it. They really did.

Definitely a Tommy Lee chorus.

If anything should put the nail in the AI coffin, it’s this.
Like with most AI stuff—if that’s what this is—I can’t imagine anyone listening to it for enjoyment and I don’t know what the point even is.
