Your stage gear as a Rocker
What was your stage gear when you were a Rocker? My era was in the 90s so I was mostly wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Did you wear the jean jacket vest with no shirt? What about spandex? Any studs or leather?

I think Slash looks the coolest on stage. Chrome Hearts leather pants and a tee

I was just a cover band dude. Usually jeans, boots, chain wallet, tee shirt, leather jacket - or something similar that I would also wear out on the street. That's pretty much my look today though I don't play out anymore.

During the nu metal era I was guilty of quite a few fashion crimes including but not limited to red pants, leopard hair, and superglued spiked hair. I hope the 15 people at my gigs appreciated my efforts.

That's funny. That is how many of my cover gigs went back in the 2010s in turnout. Some were decent, but it makes me laugh now how much shit we hauled around town, set up, hired sound if needed, etc. to play to people that didn't care about live music. They were there to drink. I eventually folded for that reason. Putting in 4 hours plus load-in/out became a drag on a Saturday night. The local live scene has shrunk further since then.SterileEyes1 wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 8:52 am During the nu metal era I was guilty of quite a few fashion crimes including but not limited to red pants, leopard hair, and superglued spiked hair. Re: Your stage gear as a Rocker
It's been variations of the same thing for the last 30+ years. When I first started it was cowboy boots, bandana, black skinny jeans (or the shiny PVC ones), leather waistcoat and a hacked up t-shirt. Now it's engineer boots, top hat, black skinny jeans, leather waistcoat and a hacked up t-shirt. Used to wear makeup but I'm too old to carry it off now, so shades instead. Had a few different hats over the years. Had the same studded belt since I was 18 and worn it for every single gig I've ever done.

Honestly bums me out to read stuff like this. I sort of grew up in bars watching my dad play in cover bands. He still plays in like five bands at a time and has fun playing gigs whether it’s 10 people or 500. I didn’t get that gene I guess. I admire anyone who does it just for the joy of playing and I’m probably a little jealous.

Still pretty much the same as always: jeans, boots or trainers and t-shirt (yes, of own band or other).

I still play in a band that’s active. So for me it’s always a sleeveless shirt, black skin tight jeans and Vans.

Re: Your stage gear as a Rocker
Black leather pants, New Rock boots, some semi-original shirts/tops I bought on Melrose or Hollywood Blvd ten years ago...
...and my Marshall half-stack/Bluguitar guitar preamp or Flyrig bass effects unit plugged straight into the venue sound system, depending on which band of mine is playing...I'm going minimalist I guess...

I wore a cowboy hat and bandana and pointed a lot. Everyone laughed at me and said that image would not work for anyone.
