Megadeth tour
Coming here to Charlotte on a Saturday. Big shed. September 7th.
I’ve seen them twice. Killed both times. Any other Sludgers going to this?

I'll look up if they're coming to my area. The new guitarist may be interesting. Wonder how he handles Tornado of Souls.

Are you just gonna show up to the venue empty handed or are you gonna buy one there and go inside?Psychobolia.com wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 12:46 pm They're playing here in June, gonna show up without a ticket just like I did last time!

Re: Megadeth tour
Gonna show up with a beer in my hand, and if I find someone selling a cheap ticket I'll go in. I might actually look for a cheap ticket the week before the show, there's always people selling their tickets online cuz they can't make the show.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 3:13 pmAre you just gonna show up to the venue empty handed or are you gonna buy one there and go inside?Psychobolia.com wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 12:46 pm They're playing here in June, gonna show up without a ticket just like I did last time!
Re: Megadeth tour
I'm buying almost all of my tickets on ticketswap the days before the event. A little patience takes off 40-50% of the price, feels good.Psychobolia.com wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:19 pm Gonna show up with a beer in my hand, and if I find someone selling a cheap ticket I'll go in. Re: Megadeth tour
I dunno, I've seen Megadeth a couple of times, mostly the RIP line up, but I thought they were kinda shit live.
The music is very complicated to sound good live, they are boring to look at and the vocals live were atrocious...

Re: Megadeth tour
I discovered that site the other day, when looking up Priest tickets (the one with Half singing); surprisingly there were none, and nothing for Megadeth yet... But yeah, patience is key!jens wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:04 amI'm buying almost all of my tickets on ticketswap the days before the event. Insert TBM's "all of this" gif here. I think I've seen them 6 times but the last was the Big 4 tour. After that I decided it was more interesting to watch some paint drying than another MegaDave "show".El Vampiro Blanco wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:36 am I dunno, I've seen Megadeth a couple of times, mostly the RIP line up, but I thought they were kinda shit live.

Re: Megadeth tour
Don't think I could make it through the opening bands to see this show...(much the same as all recent Megadeth tours)
Re: Megadeth tour
Big shed in Cincinnati. Small arena in Huntington, WV. Neither seem to be selling like hotcakes. This seems to be the pattern of Megadeth. They'll come through Cincinnati one year and play the club that holds 1,200. The next year they'll play the midsize. A few years later the larger arena or shed. Then the club again. Makes no sense but whatevz.
Re: Megadeth tour
For as great as their music is they are a pretty boring band live.

Re: Megadeth tour
I saw them once in 1997 and was excited to see them but they were really boring, and even in 1997, Mustaine isn't the best vocalist. I wasn't impressed in 97 so I can't imagine in 2024 it would be better. It's kind of a bummer because I do like their catalog but some bands are just meant to be listened to as opposed to seeing live.

Re: Megadeth tour
Live they are like the Scorpions. Very good and very consistent. It's never really great. Dave is a genius who is ultimately limited by being a cheap prick.

Re: Megadeth tour
Good analogy. They're not horrible or anything, just very "paint by the numbers." Lots of standing and staring at their fret boards. There's a reason Megadeth always goes on before Slayer on those package tours and isn't that Slayer has a bigger selling catalog...
