How can someone be underrated despite being in a national performing band. That right there should rate you as you are and that is being recognized as being very talented.
Uh, if you're the 2nd best band in the world, and everyone in the world thinks you're the 3rd best band in the world, you're underrated.

UFO
Thin Lizzy
Really?
I don't think UFO is underrated at all, in any incarnation! They always rock!
And Thin Lizzy? Really? Jailbreak is one of the best albums of all time! There's no one on this planet that doesn't love The Boys Are Back In Town, and nobody who doesn't know it!
And the rest of the album is awesome too.
Neither of these bands are underrated, they just aren't anymore.
That's kind of the point. They are great but not as obvious as say Sabbath, Priest or even Motörhead when discussing the best bands in hard rock.

Michael Monroe and/or Hanoi Rocks?
That may be the wrong answer though because I think he/they really are underrated!
Did they ever have a gold or platinum record? top 40 hit?
I feel like everyone knows who he is and who they were but probably can't mention many songs from them!
Overrated, not underrated.

obviously you take this way too seriously and were deeply affected by what transpired in the early 1990's and hopefully you are discussing these issues with a therapist in addition to other fans on music message boards.

KISS Alive and Alive 2 are better. But they had tons of good songs to pick from. Guess it isn’t fair.
Trash. Only one good song. Janes Addiction are light years better

Dude - did you, like, just get ass-fucked by Patton or something? You're really off the hook here.

Mick Mars probably is in this camp, too.
I'm not sure about this one. I'm no student of Motley, but Mick's claim to fame seemed to always be his tone. IDK, he always struck me as right for Motley but not a guitarist that should be on any "lists."
Mick always made the “worst guitarist” lists back in the 80s. Then again, so did Yngwie. The Brad Tolinski crowd are kinda morons.
This is correct. GreatWhiteSnake is talking out of his arse.
He does this a lot.
Also, Jake E Lee IS underrated
He’s seldom mentioned by non-musicians.
I’d say Warren DeMartini is underrated as well
Naw they were great players who more than got their due in their day.
I’m not a RDC fan but I think out of Ozzy’s guitarists, Jake is underrated. Jake was only with him for two albums with Zakk completely eclipsing him. I know many younger fans who don’t like Jake or the two records he did more so because of the image at the time than the music. Ultimate Sin is an underrated classic and got dogged on for years. Jake was doing that 70s trip long before Zakk was doing it. That said, Jake hosed himself. He didn’t keep a public profile and didn’t keep working after Badlands fell apart. Instead, it sounds like he descended into an abyss of substance abuse.
Out of this genre, while this guy gets his due among many of us, I would say Vito Bratta was also vastly underrated. Many dismissed him as an EVH clone, which I found unfair.
