Disco-ee songs by rock bands

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Only Stoned album I purchased. Damn. It was BAD

OK…got it from Columbia House. Still got ripped off.
I love the Stones, but that album sucks (aside from "She's So Cold").
I like it. Woodys much better at bass than guitar.

This is a pretty tough subject, really, because there are sooo many rock songs from the late 70s/early 80s that clearly had some amount of disco influence. It's hard to tell how much of it sort of just seeped in and how much was "alright we need a hit, lets just fucking make a disco song".

Eagles - One of the Nights is somewhere in there for sure.
Elton John - The bitch is back
Jackson Browne - Disco Apocalypse.
The Clash - The Magnificent Seven
Thin Lizzy - Dancing in the Moonlight (surprised this hasn't been mentioned)
Wings “Goodnight Tonight”
Eddie Money, “Maybe I’m A Fool” (I think this the clearest attempt at pandering to a hit besides I was made for loving you)

Great post!!! Some of my favorite songs there! I'm not saying I want an entire album of "Maybe I'm a Fool" but songs like this and Trinidad are cool to show a different side of the band/artist.

I'll add the song "On and On" by Saigon Kick. Not sure if it's disco but it has a 70's dance feel to it.

A much more recent song...the band everyone loves to hate: Reckless Love '89 Sparkle! Again, not disco but has a dance vibe.

Just thought of two more: "Body Talk" and "Loco-Emotion" from Kix's Cool Kids album. Could those two songs have possibly been the first ever examples of disco hair/glam metal?

Lots of songs from that era had cool funky guitar which was close to disco, but a lot of it is really cool guitar stuff, like Nile Rogers in Chic, or that Climax Blues Band song, Couldnt Get it Right. I love that song. https://youtu.be/leJPJ764Bxs?si=ZmAMvhJyp7Ylr11X
