Re: Mr. Big - "Ten"
Odd timing to release the record as their farewell tour is ending! For sure the Lean Into It record was their most successful but I think it's an odd choice to play it in its entirety for their farewell tour, with no songs from the new album.

Kinda odd to release the album cover and date, but no lead single?
Their last 2 releases have been pretty good, so am looking forward to this one as well.

The song sucks. Eric's voice really sucks. It doesn't even sound like him. Definitely the wrong song to release first from the cd. It's really bad filler.

New "jam" (I don't think I even consider that a song) sucks (and blows).......... and the dry production doesn't help.
Beyond technically proficient musicians (Gilbert, Sheehan), but the faux bluesy/jam style doesn't work for them.

Major Deep Purple/UFO vibes, with either Ian Gillan or Pete Way having a completely shot voice.risingfarce wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 2:02 am The song sucks. Eric's voice really sucks. It doesn't even sound like him. Definitely the wrong song to release first from the cd. It's really bad filler.
I don't hate it, though.

Is something wrong with PG? He looks like he's wasting away before our eyes.

Major Hendrix "Manic Depression" vibes!!!! I don't hate it but it doesn't exactly blend in with Lean Into It!SexxAtraxxion wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 12:49 pm https://youtu.be/Ov5T5dqjM2A

Re: Mr. Big - "Ten"
This whole thing is odd. Yeah, we're doing a farewell tour, but here's a new album that we'll never perform anything off of. I don't get it.
And Eric doesn't sound like Eric anymore. Like, there's little tinges here and there, but he just sounds like some dude. Also, if you listen closely, it sounds like he's slurring his words a bit, or that he's singing with dentures or something, the lyrics aren't coming out clean.
Maybe it'll sell in Japan, but I made it through about half that single and was done. I'd rather listen to Paul's weird instrumental Dio tribute album.

I guess he had more clothes/hair in the 80s. The Gary Numan look doesn't suit him.
