40th ANNIVERSARY - THE CLASS of 1984 ... Hard to believe, but I will be attending my 40th Class Reunion in October!

Post by MetalSludgeCEO »

Mind boggling to think it's been 40 years since I graduated...

I will be home visiting the old hood the weekend of Oct. 18th-20th for my official Class Reunion, the class of 1984!

I attended our 20th reunion in 2004, but missed our 30th in 2014... and now, it's time for 40!

What's most crazy, is I can recall so many things from Grade School, Middle School and High School too.

Who here has attended one of their Class Reunions? How was it? What year was it? And will you go again?

I have some friends, who want nothing to do with these, and hold some grudge against class-mates over stupid sh!t from 3-4 decades ago... wtf!

I am stoked to go, and while I do keep in touch with some old friends, I am excited to see others who I have not seen in decades!

I was always popular kid growing up in school. Always having fun enjoying life
My 10 year was cool. Came back with my dream White Zombie dredlocks. Wore purple black leopard print shirt. Had some Bon Jovi ripped jeans on

First thing I noticed is how all girls you thought were gorgeous in High School turned out to be real world 7 at best
Met tons classmates that married high school girlfriends- had bunch of kids so soon. Then started to complain how hard life was LOL. Almost none of them had the guts to move out and live the dream life they always talked about LOL
Imagine being 27 and serving 27 and life!!

I got all night “ yea when WWF is in town or heavy metal shows come to town I always wonder if you still do those things”
“ yea my life is Cherry Pie video”
It was cool night

Never had another reunion- guess everyone gave up in life LOL
My Baywatch life is awesome walked maybe 3 million miles on the beach- seen maybe 4 million shows in dream places- Def Leppard and WWE in stadiums
I love my Encino Man life
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

class of 83 here.
I was an outcast in high school but played in a rock band and I was a class clown too. I tried to fit in with the crowd and didn't. I went to my 5 year class reunion meeting to help plan it. I sat at a table with a group of people that were once "friends" that I no longer knew. In fact, they didn't even speak to me while they discussed plans. I walked out after about 30 minutes and said I never ever would attend one. A friend I have known since high school asked me every time there was a reunion to go to it. I politely declined. The 10 year one came and went. So did the 15, 20 and 25 years too. He always sought me out and personally invited me. I never went. Then when the 30 year came around, a high school friend that had moved away and went on to work on MADTV and produced the movie "Loud" also contacted me along with my friend that always tried to get me to go. He said he couldn't go but to please go in his place and have a beer on him. It was a sincere request and I was surprised that he asked me to do that. I went to it and I was an idiot for never going to any of them. some of my classmates' and I toasted to Bentley Title and sent him a cell phone photo of us. I thanked him for asking me to go to it because I was really on the fence about it and he never gave up. About a year later he died. His family has some kind of gene or something that makes all the males in his family die before 50. He was in the hospital when I went. He was 49. I had no idea. He didn't tell anyone.
As I said, I was an idiot for harboring all those silly feelings. Most of all the hot girls and cheerleader chicks from Highschool that would not give me the time of day in school are now fat and working on their 2nd or 3rd marriages. The jocks look like used car salesmen too. Life has a way of evening the score. If it wasn't for the name tags I wouldn't have known most of them from how they look now from back then. it was enlightening. I went to my 40th last year. I stayed about 30 minutes. Long enough to touch base and get out. They had a table set up with all the classmates that have passed on. It was nice but I kept thinking, the table is going to get larger and our reunions smaller.
Life is too fast. I was 15 yesterday trying to play paranoid. It's crazy.
Go and have fun. Report back.

Class of '84 here.

Could not give one single shit about anything that happened in high school or any of the people I went to school with, so I won't be going to any reunions.

Plus it is 2300 miles away, and at this point, even the most attractive girls from '84 would be too old to bang now, especially after living that midwest life for the last 40 years.

Graduated in 1993.

I put our 25th reunion together in 2018 because nobody had done anything since our 10 year reunion.

It was fun seeing everyone again, but with Facebook and Instagram, I just don't think it is as big of a deal to do reunions anymore.

In 2023, I reached out to people to see if there was any interest in doing a 30th reunion and there really wasn't, so I didn't put that together.

1984 here too. No one can find me since I have no social media. Mission accomplished. No desire to see anyone from then.

To elaborate, I was a jock, musician, popular, football and baseball letterman. No beef with anyone. I just have no desire to pretend to enjoy a few hours with people I haven't seen or have anything in common with since the 20th reunion.

One guy that was class of 85 went to the same college. Fast forward 35 years and he now lives 2 min from me. We get together once a week to play tennis or bike or have a beer. That's good enough for me.

I'm class of 1990. I have been to three of our reunions that we've had, but it's been awhile (our 2020 one was obviously cancelled). I am planning on not going next year if we have our 35th. I still keep in contact with all of my good friends, and I am "friends" with many more classmates on Facebook. In fact, it's because of Facebook that I really don't want to go to our next reunion, as I find on Facebook that most of my former classmates are either really annoying, total dickheads, or flat out crazy.

Class of 2004. We had our 20 year reunion earlier in July, small town, small graduating class. Was good, most of us were together all through kindergarten to graduation. Don't see many of them that often despite most living in the same general 2 hour driving radius.

I went to the 10 year reunion.....and realized there was a reason I hadn't been in touch with most of these people since graduation.

I ended up doing well in life, and I don't need to be reminded of my days as an outcast, so no need to go back again.

I keep in touch with the ones I want to keep in touch with. The rest aren't relevant to me.

Class of 1996. I didn't go to my ten year. It was at a country club and $75 a head. I went to my twenty year. It was at a sports bar in a private room. $20 a head which included a pretty good appetizer spread. I was never one of the popular guys, but I got along with everyone. I had a great time. I was able to see a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while, and share some fun memories. If there is a 30 year in 2026, I am definitely going.

I graduated in 1996, and as far as I know, my clas has only organized a ten-year reunion. Which I didn't attend, mostly because my work schedule interfered.

I am a week and change out, from the 40th back in Oshkosh.

Gonna spend a long weekend hanging with my Mom, Family and some Friends back in Oshkosh.

I might, might even hit up the Packers vs: Texans game at Lambeau!
