REO Speedwagon to End Touring as of 2025
They were doing quite well with their Amato / Hitt post-hey day lineup through the 90s, 00s, 10s and early 20s.... but Neil Doughty retired a year ago, then Bruce Hall had some back surgery... and there have been comments on social media that Bruce felt he was able and wanted to come back for the Summer shed tour but others in the band (or at least KC) didn't want it to happen. Then KC had a recent health situation, couldn't finish the tour, and starting new path forward.
I saw the Summer shed tour with Train back in July-- was an excellent show but definitely felt more like a Kevin Cronin solo gig now than REO Speedwagon. Guess that's what it will actually be after this year.

Expect to see more of these in the future, but it doesnt say anything about KC going out on his own.

They peaked as a rock band with "You get what you play for". They super peaked as AOR artists with "Hi Infidelity". Coasted and collected the money forever after that. They win.
Looks like Bruce has ownership also in the name so they can't tour as REO without his approval is how I gathered the post.

I am not sure what the fans expect but having seen REO Speedwagon a few years ago I would say Kevin Cronin wasn't singing at a level I would expect. Maybe Bruce should dig up Gary Richrath and take what's left of him on tour.
The good news is this also means Styx and Loverboy are finished as they won't have anyone left to tour with.

Yeah I fully expect to see KC tour under some other name... Will be interesting to see if anyone in the current band joins. Also wonder how the fans will respond-- definitely seems to be some bitterness out there online. I've been a fan since the early 80s and appreciated the later years lineup but not sure I'll go out of my way to see this.

I saw them play a theater show a couple of years ago ( a band named Levon opened) and it was really good. Probably a good time to call it a day.

Saw them a few years ago and Kevin's voice was just above a whisper even then. Just call it a day.

They will tour as Kevin Cronin’s REO, with all the same guys as this year, but legally cutting Bruce Hall and Neal Doughty out of the picture. Basically the REO version of Bret Michael’s Party Gras. Hell… maybe they’ll even be on the Party Gras tour.

I absolutely love REO but his voice is shot. I’m talking Jon Bon Jovi shot.

Did Bruce Hall have any piece of ownership? Or was it just Doughty and Cronin or Doughty alone?
Hall’s daughter has been going scorched Earth on IG lately stating how Cronin was keeping Bruce out of the band, despite having a back surgery, due to Hall not being able to stand up fully straight. Wild times at REO have a load of money left on the table as a touring entity.
