List of English Rockers who bought medieval Castles ?

I saw a pic of Steve Winwood recently. Looks like he's sitting in some old freezing cold dank smelly castle.

Now ....other than a vanity purchase, why would anyone think this is a good idea?

What other rock stars had one?

What? Blackmore has lived in the US since 1974 and Dio lived there his entire life.

The American equivalence is buying a "ranch".

But at least you're not sitting in a 800 year old run down stone behemoth.

The idea would be to live near a ski resort.

He's such a fucking dick. Great songwriter, great singer, great bass player, and great performer, but he's perhaps the most egomaniacal rocker I can think of. And, it isn't like those are in short supply.

Dio was a notorious tightwad and him and his wife supposedly made some good investments in property in the 80s so why not.

Jimmy Page's residence Tower House is sometimes called a castle but it really isn't. It's a big 150 year old private home on a street with other private homes next to Hyde Park right in central London, Robbie Williams is his neighbour for example.
