Whether you’re a Jane’s fan or not, we all love us a good inside scoop to rock n’ roll drama. This is some shit right here, straight from Dave Navarro’s long time guitar tech. I’m 20 minutes in and it already features just about every rock n’ roll cliche you can imagine.

Neither can I but got about 30 minutes in and so far there’s a bust up first night of the U.S. leg where Perry storms off and claims he’s quitting right before the show because the rest of the band doesn’t want to agree last minute to use screen footage of his wife doing scantily-clad dancing. The wife then stays behind and yells belligerently in front of the whole crew and a Live Nation rep about how the band isn’t a democracy on this issue. So the rock cliche jackpot has already been hit.

Then he debunks the “it was too loud onstage” excuse Perry made for flipping out and gets into him being fucked up on something that wasn’t just alcohol.


Edited to say I got a bit further in and at around the 53 minute mark the real fireworks start happening. Tech guy has Perry’s isolated audio from right before he hits Dave and during the incident, lined up with video footage.

If this was Ratt or Motley or something a bunch of you would nut over this.

I don't see things ending well for Perry here.

The wife seems like she's playing him against the band because they don't want her and the dancers onstage.

That is what started all of this. He didn't show up for tour rehearsals at all because of it.

She's Perry's Yoko Ono. She now must be onstage with him otherwise there will be hell to pay.

He looks like he may have substance abuse issues and/or mental health issues which makes a situation like this even more difficult to manage.

She wants to be involved in his projects, she wants to be onstage. When she doesn't get her way she winds him up against the rest of the band.

A solo project with hired guns could survive something like this because she'd get her way as she has in the past but Jane's is a band and the other three guys told him that the wife and the dancers aren't getting onstage so he feels like he has to defend her.

A band cannot survive something like this when one member of the band has lead singer disease and his wife has Yoko Ono disease LOL.

It's too bad because they were a great band in their early years and still pretty good when they got back together.

It ended badly, Perry was TERRIBLE on this tour. He was THE weak link and seems to have gone completely off the rails in more ways than one.

What's he going to do now? Porno For Pyros folded. Some of his DJ sets? His solo career that nobody cares about? He's got the Lollapalooza name and I'm sure that makes him good money but it's not the same as making your own music or being in a band.

It's funny, but I find this tied to Casey Niccoli's article that she wrote recently about being one of the main creative forces in the band. Perry has just made bad choices since breaking up with her.

He always seems incredibly needy and has to have a "muse" along side him. This muse unfortunately doesn't seem to have a fraction of the talents as his other ex's. This is no artist, she's the typical gold digging LA plastic surgery stripper that these guys all seem to fall for eventually.
