TOURISTS TRAPPED IN MINE SHAFT ... WTF! No Thank You. More than 10 people trapped, 1 Dead!

Post by MetalSludgeCEO »

This is almost as absurd as those idiots going in the K-Mart submarine trying to see the Titanic wreckage, who all died!

Now... this "Mine Shaft", that tourists can go 500+ feet down, are trapped... 11 rescued, 1 is Dead and over 10 more are supposed to be alive and waiting to be rescued.

Who the F#@k would do this? Not me...

"""""""""The tour group is trapped about 1,000 feet down in the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine. """"""""""

This reminds me of the time those workers were trapped in that Mine Shaft, and CNN was running a live feed at the site, with Anderson Cooper on the scene.

And there was some clown who started ringing some bell, saying "They're ALL alive! They are ALIVE!" and everyone got excited and cheered.

Then they realized the guy saying that was NOT in a position to do so, and it turned out they were ALL dead. Ugh!

Everyone's elation turned to sadness, when they realized the information chain was indeed infected with an idiot!

Over 10 tourists trapped in Colorado coal mine after ‘equipment malfunction’

Rescue efforts are underway after more than 10 people became trapped inside a Colorado coal mine they were touring Thursday, according to officials and reports.

The group is stuck about 1,000 feet down in the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine, which offers tours to the public, following an “equipment malfunction,” the Teller County Sheriff’s Office said.

The mine did not collapse, the office added.

Colorado Springs firefighters are working to rescue the more than 10 people still inside, while 11 people were already saved, ABC Denver reported.

The gold mine located in Cripple Creek, about 20 miles southwest of Colorado Springs, closed operations in the 1960s but remains open as a tourist attraction.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said the state is sending resources to help the local teams bring the people to safety.

“We will do everything possible and assist the county to ensure a speedy and safe resolution of the situation,” he said in a statement.

This is a developing story. Please check back for more updates.

I have already done enough dumb sh!t in my life, and will refrain on some of the "risk" going forward.

Already jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, 1x. (Have the video too)

Already Bungee Jumped from my ankles, at Midnight, 1x. (Have that video as well)

In truth, the Bungee was scarier than the Sky Dive!

Won't ever be doing any "under water" stuff, that includes Scuba Diving. No thanks.

I recall that underwater thing at Disneyland where you go in that Sub thing, wasn't stoked on being in there.

Won't ever be getting in a Helicopter... pass!

Won't be doing any "camping" in the middle of nowhere, taking a sh!t in the woods, or cooking on an open fire. Pass on all. Not into wild Bears!

Won't be doing any white water rafting, or similar river trip, already did a bit of this in my youth, no more is needed.

Won't be taking ANY ride in a small aircraft, even if a Buddy has a friend of a friend who has his Pilot's license, etc... Pass all day long.

Won't be running a Marathon, or a Half Marathon, or any thing of the sort. F#@K that... I would likely have a heart attack as I crossed the finish line!

While we're on that Running subject, no Iron Man stuff for me... or benching 3 plates (315 +) at the gym. Or squatting 4-500 lbs. Nope! No need for any of that!

Being in a band on tour is already dangerous enough... along with driving to the store. I will take it easy in the 4th quarter of life.

I'll probably go to Hell for this, but here goes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXn0uIF60iU

It was written by Rupert Holmes, who wrote the sappy "If you like pina coladas," song.

Trapped in a mine that had caved in
And everyone knows the only ones left
Were Joe and me and Tim

When they broke through to pull us free
The only ones left to tell the tale
Were Joe and me

Timothy, Timothy, where on earth did you go?
Timothy, Timothy, God why don't I know?

Hungry as hell no food to eat
And Joe said that he would sell his soul
For just a piece of meat

Water enough to drink for two
And Joe said to me, "I'll have a swig
And then there's some for you."

Timothy, Timothy, Joe was looking at you
Timothy, Timothy, God what did we do?

I must have blacked out just around then
'Cause the very next thing that I could see
Was the light of the day again

My stomach was full as it could be
And nobody ever got around
To finding Timothy
Timothy

As long as I'm learning something, I figure I'm OK - it's a decent day.

Ir was a broken elevator. One person who was in it died, those waiting at the bottom to go back up had to wait a bit longer but weren't in the sligjtest danger. Elevators can and do break down anywhere. Are all of you saying or thinking "those tourists are idiots" never going in a big hotel or tall building ever again too? Or you are, but you'll take the stairs every time?

Is it safe to say, that going into a modern sky-scraper, Hotel or office building's elevator is just a tad safer than going into a 125 year old Gold Mine shaft 1,000 feet underground?
