I'd never heard it before. I essentially avoided listening to him because a promoter I knew told me that he was an extreme asshole.
Whether that's true or not, he's amazing.

Pretty much SRV's entire catalog. The guy was so good it was absurd.

Frampton's solo at the end of "Do You Feel Like We Do" was pretty epic.
Also, "Freewill" by Rush.

I just happen to be reading his autobio right now. Sometimes, he's egotistical, but he admits it. He's also very humble because of the way his career peaked, then crumbled.NineteenEightyFour wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 6:49 pm Frampton's solo at the end of "Do You Feel Like We Do" was pretty epic.
I've always thought he was a great player, with some interesting jazz leanings.
Have you ever heard him play this Thelonious Monk song with Chris Spedding?

Is Pink Floyd too "metal" for you? Because the answer is anytime David Gilmour plays Comfortably Numb.

I think it's almost impossible to be that talented and not be egotistical. You have to be to aspire to be that great. He's always come off as very mellow and humble in his later years.

After his sales numbers fell, he made some bad investments and his manager stole all his money. He had to sell his homes and rent an apartment.
He had to borrow money. That humbled him greatly.
I never realized he was broke not too long after having the world's biggest selling album (at the time).

First "live" solos that came to mind are two thing you'd assume I'd make.
Roy Clark's 12 Street Rag

And Stevie Playing Scuttlebutton at soundcheck half asleep. Dude walks off this bus, straps on a guitar between yawns, and....

Never really heard anything like that before, but I wouldn't be surprised. I'm sure his ex-wives could tell a few tales too lol. I'm also a fan of his acoustic playing too, RT is a total master. The "solo" section of his signature song is never played the same way twice..Turner Coates wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 4:33 pmWow. 1952 Vincent Black Lightning = wow.
Speaking of the word, "wow"....wow's an interesting word. Upside down it spells the word "mom". It's also what dad says when mom's upside down. Go figure.
