D-A-D ( Disneyland After Dark)
Anyone here heard their new album Speed of Darkness? I think this is a fucking fantastic effort. Saw this band live last Saturday and they still deliver like 20 years ago. One of the best live bands around. Absolutely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtKe2mg ... nnel=D-A-D

Strong candidate for one of the worst hair metal band names ever.
One of those groups you saw in Metal Edge, but never heard anything from. What was their "big hit"?

really digging "Keep That Mother Down."
Re: D-A-D ( Disneyland After Dark)
Decent band with an unique style for the genre. Lame name, yeah. Their "hit" was probably 'Sleeping my day away'.Mister Freeze wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 6:28 am Strong candidate for one of the worst hair metal band names ever.

Re: D-A-D ( Disneyland After Dark)
Never understood the love for them or the goofy bass player with his dumbass basses. Average band. And the sound on "Sleeping My Day Away" is as much alternative rock as it is glam. Not really "unique".AJL wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 8:07 amDecent band with an unique style for the genre. Lame name, yeah. Not that I'll buy the new record, but I'll stream it, along with their other stuff, anytime. I like them & would for sure check them out live if they ever tour the states again. The only shows they do in the states are on, or around the launch of, the MORC.
Re: D-A-D ( Disneyland After Dark)
Funny. Maybe that name is dumb for native English speakers but me and many other people I know have always mentioned that one as a brilliant band name.AJL wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 8:07 amDecent band with an unique style for the genre. And yeah Sleeping My Day Away is their classic. Jihad, I Won't Cut My Hair, Girl Nation, Bad Craziness, Laugh and a Half and Everything Glows are the other pretty well known songs (in certain circles).
For me they are a better band than 95 % of the hair metal talked about here at Sludge,

I listened to the tracks off of the new album, and they weren't bad at all. But No Fuel... is their finest hour.

Re: D-A-D ( Disneyland After Dark)
Am I am remembering this incorrectly...?
I thought I recall the band's name originally being DEAD AT DISNEYLAND.
And later it morphed into Disneyland After Dark.

One of the best live bands I ever saw. They peaked with No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims and Riskin' It All though.

Jesus fucking Christ. What you've typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. I couldn't come up with a percentage, but D-A-D is better than 19/20 of the bands you people talk about on here.

In 11 days I’ll be watching them headline a sold-out 40th anniversary show at Royal Arena in Copenhagen. I fucking love this band.
While they never took off here, they’re legendary elsewhere.

Your MOM sucks.
95% of the members of this board.
The members' member, to be precise - all 100% of their members. Ask your DAD.
