I guess everything must be spelled out for you. They have not done a tour of the major arenas in the big cities. They've done smaller arenas, 5000-7000 seaters. They're doing Madison Square Garden for the first time ever on this tour.

Re: Ghost Tour Announcement Tomorrow?
After seeing the absurd ticket prices for this tour, I seriously don't know if I'm going to bother. It's been a long time coming, I skip more and more shows nowadays as it is. And it just keeps getting more and more ridiculous with these larger shows and, frankly, it's not worth the money. I spent $384 on a pair of tickets on the last Ghost tour in an outdoor shed, They were the equivalent of 3rd row, but due to the stage extensions, it was obstructed view. Zero recourse.
This tour is even more expensive. See these two options from the CITI presale earlier today: a pair of reserved seats on the sides but up near the stage and a pair of PIT tickets.

For the pair of PIT tickets, there is literally an extra $100 in service fees tacked onto the total. It's an extra $91 for the reserved seats. That's $50/$45 in service fees per ticket. I go to shows for less than the service fees. Go fuck yourselves TM. And TM should be forced to explain why the service charges and facility fees change between the two options. It's horseshit. And I'm not paying a hundred dollars a ticket to sit in the upper bowl or back of the arena either. That's a ripoff too.
I usually wait on the arena shows nowadays, so maybe tickets will drop later as they did with Jeff Lynn where tickets were getting dumped at as much as 50% off from when they went on sale the week of the show.
Or maybe I've just aged out of paying way too much for this stuff.

Concerts need more of the pouch shows. Who in the actual fuck ever goes home and 6 months down the road pulls up a full show they videoed on their phone? It’s a total waste of a ticket and the experience.

Soooo…….no one has an extra phone they don’t use anymore to bring and toss in the bag in front of them ? Some ladies have wallets and other bags that can hide a flat phone, even if you put it in a clear bag. Put some tampons or pads over it. No guy’s gonna want to paw through that. If it’s that important to you.

The feedback from fans has been extremely positive for the most part.Lobo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 11:51 am I'm over 50 years old and definitely NOT a phone guy so I don't really care either way. But Ghost is not a classic rock band with an old fan base. A large percentage of their audience is not middle aged or older. This phone policy will certainly piss off those under 45.
Jack White has had a similar policy in the past but the White Stripes first album came out in 1999, 25 years ago.
IMO Ghost should have used TOOL's phone policy. There's no ban on phones but security strictly enforces a no filming policy during the show, except for the last song where Maynard tells the audience it's okay to take their phones out and film. It works much better if security does their job. They catch people filming and tell them to stop or they'll get thrown out and it works just fine. That way if you need to text somebody or call somebody security doesn't care, as long as you're not filming the band.
If you really want people to stop looking at their phones and watch the show...make the show better!
This nonsense of taking peoples phones just makes the fans resentful and angry.

Restricting phones is a great move. I recently watched the Rite Here Rite Now concert movie by Ghost, what contributed to that being as excellent as it is is the lack of any phones in the arena. Total audience engagement. The band feeds off it and the crowd are in the moment. Tobias was smart to ban phones.
I also finally got around to watching KISS' final End Of The Road concert which absolutely sucked for many reasons, one of the main being that every fucker in there was recording it on their phones. The last ever concert by KISS and all you see is people holding their phones, despite knowing it's being pro-shot. It's distracting and looks terrible especially for a final ever concert film. You can really feel the disconnect and lack of connection between band and audience, very striking contrast to the Ghost concert movie which feels like a massive party/orgy.
It's just typical of Gene and Paul to not have the vision or foresight to make that last ever gig a phone free event. No attention to detail or care. Tobias knows what's up. It's only a couple of hours out of your life without your precious iThing,

I use my phone to monitor my youngest's blood glucose, you know, so he doesn't die. Is that stupid? Just curious.Wednesday 13 Fan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 11:40 amEvery single one of these is just stupid.VincentVanWinger wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 10:28 am I respect the spirit and intent of no cell phones but I have issues.
1. How does the babysitter get a hold of you if junior burns the house down. Are you supposed to head to the concourse every 3 songs to unlock your bag and check?
2. What if the person you are attending with isn’t a big fan and is just there for you. Are they supposed to count cracks in the ceiling? I’m not saying they should be on their phone the entire time but still.
3. So they want to go a cashless all digital monetary system. So at this show you have to mess with a card which means no Apple Pay etc. Or what if you need to check your bank or something or text a friend to find out what shirt they want etc? Having 11,000 fans all trying to unlock their pouches between bands sounds like a shitty time.
4. So I pay $200-300 for a ticket and can’t get a fucking picture of the stage?
5. I’m gonna put my phone into this pouch that has had 300 dirty ass phones in it before me? Gross.
I still want to go and I respect the intent but this isn’t a practical solution in 2024. I guess at the LA shows they filmed you couldn’t even have an Apple Watch.
I’d almost just leave my phone at home but oh I can’t because the stupid tickets are on the phone.

And have been dealt with way before the invention of cell phones. How did you attend a show in the 80s or 90s? It’s all worth it to have 9000 in San Diego without IPhones
Kid cost way to much money with no payoff
Summer in San Diego-beach tacos-new boogie board- Ghost ticket- Pacers. I’m already looking forward to it
Ghost tour should be called “No Children 2025”
Going be awesome when Ghost singer comes out and films everyone on his IPhone all show
You scan the ticket from your IPhone. They print out the ticket from that. Then put the IPhone in a pouch that locks. On way out security opens the pouch and you return it. It’s super fast and easy

I can't believe the bellyaching about not having access to your phone for 2 hours or so?
Most of humanity made it just fine going to dinner, shows, parties without having the ability to have babysitters give real time medical updates on children.
Now, I'm not saying we need not embrace modern conveniences, but this isn't exactly asking anyone to live like a caveman or jeopardize the safety of their kids for fuck's sake. Unless you are an ER physician that can diagnose and treat your child's emergency health condition better remotely from a concert, 911 and having paramedics quickly on site is still a better move for the babysitter than calling your sorry ass at the Ghost show anyway, and, what, you direct your babysitter to make an emergency medical intervention from the show?
I sometimes wonder about people . . . .

Comedians have done this for years... but wait until the first lawsuit when some tragedy happens and people at a show can't be notified. That will be the end of it.veritas wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 6:08 am Now, I'm not saying we need not embrace modern conveniences, but this isn't exactly asking anyone to live like a caveman or jeopardize the safety of their kids for fuck's sake. Big tech probably wouldn't support this.... their goal is to have everyone mesmerized by their phones... so you know whenever it suits them they'll look to put the kabosh on this sort of stuff.
