Can't you see the US is politically corrupted with no good choices/
Its simply a fact that outside the USA, and evidently within it, nobody is impressed by a Democrat party led by a senile leader, a shoe-in token woman with no policy ideas, and who blow billions of fund-raised dollars on hiring the likes of Beyonce to helicopter in to its rallies.
US us an absolute joke.
Not correct. The Beyonce thing does look stupid and like a waste of money but in most of Europe the Democrats ARE seen as the better (not great but better) choice, 78 year old Trump is seen as just as senile and tired as Biden by people used to 30-something Sanna Marin or 40-somethings Meloni and Macron leading governments, and whether Harris is the "token woman" and also in the same vein "DEI candidate" is not relevant here, those are American things. Nobody worth taking seriously called Angela Merkel or Maggie Thatcher those things even 30-40 years ago. But who knows, maybe in Africa or China they agree with you.

No, it's true. Just the other day I heard one of my MAGA co-workers telling another that gas will be below $2 by February.

If gas gets to $2 per gallon in L.A., I will happily eat one of my guitars.

It never even fell under $3 during covid when there was effectively 0 demand.

I think that depends on what part of the country you are from.

in Texas, gas fell below $2 when the pandemic started shutting everything down.

Your state has the highest gas tax in the nation. Also, your 'I visit the blue areas of other states' could have been shortened to 'I go to the cities.'

It is a LOT more than gas tax. That accounts for $1+- the rest is corporate bullshit.

...and there ARE red cities, there is just never anything happening in them. They tend to not foster art scenes or whatevs.

Under $3 gallons here in Cocoa Beach. Filled up both the truck and boat yesterday, and even went to Publix for the first time in years and carts were full.

Yes, I noticed Biden has dementia, Harris is posting slurry drunken videos about taking power, and the Democrats agitate proxy wars on other continents. It’s almost as if they’re a puppet regime for a shadow government made of corporations like Blackrock.
The only Europeans that rate them are academics and Marxists in some sort of Star Wars resistance fantasy. The vast majority can’t stand them.

There is a growing segment of the European population, especially among the less literate, that are pro-Trump, as well as pro-Bolsonaro and pro-Milei.
The majority still sees Trump as a buffoon and an embarassment to the US, and considers the Democrats as the more reasonable Party, by a huge margin.

Man.. this is so strange to me.. I grew up learning that votes are strictly confidential and you never tell anyone who you voted for
And I now understand it 1000 %
I'm seeing lifelong friends becoming enemies. Weren't you guys told that your vote is private??

😂 no it’s all sorts of people, even central and Eastern Europeans, who disliked the fact Democrats are using Ukraine and Europe broadly to fight their proxy war with Russia.

That would be true except that they found one who did wipe the floor with the twice divorced reality host.

Joe Biden.

The next time, they made him step down. And lost. That I can agree looks like a Dumbocrat move. Was going to say it's never a good idea to replace a winner with a loser, but it worked for the Republicans.

No sense playing shoulda-coulda-woulda. If Biden had won he'd have been a vegetable halfway through the term. And after the debate let-down that wasn't going to happen anyway.

The combination of Joe's bungling of that debate and some little shitass JW Booth wannabe with bad aim, those two things are why we are in this mess right now.

Inflation happens when too much money is in the system. This happened in early part of the Biden Admin, and it was exacerbated by the Inflation (non)Reduction Act. So while I voted for Biden, I am financially literate enough (and sitting on a very large 401k) to know that indeed the Biden Administration bears much of the blame for the inflation that happened. And it happened in a very similar to what that Jimmy Carter allowed it to occur in 1978 and 1979 so that's a bit fooling on part of the Democrats.

All that said, I don't think Harris lost just because of the economy, which has indeed been better this year than it was the two or three years prior. Instead, Democrats lost for these reasons:

1) Social issues - especially the utterly insane gender nonsense.

2) Showing weakness in the international arena and that leading DIRECTLY to aggression by Russia in Ukraine and Iran in Israel. They ignored "peace through strength" at their own peril

3) Much larger illegal immigration numbers but less that than the over appearance of indifference toward it and the ostentatious expenditure of taxpayer money to house people already not entering legally. That didn't have to happen, but they chose to let it happen. The voters rendered judgment.

4) Trump's near-assassination. That certainly galvanized some additional support for him and wasn't a meaningless part of the run-up to the election.

5) Harris herself: she's an enormously unlikable person who makes you feel like you're being "worked" by her every time she speaks. Trump, by comparison is a bit clownish and speaks is a bizarre hyperbole, but he oddly comes across as more genuine. When Harris tried to stake out positions that that were clearly more conservative than what she and Joe had pursued in four years, people could see right through that. It made her seem untrustworthy. That's because she was lying, and very clearly so.

I think the "Trumpsters" would be wrong if they see his win as a complete validation of Trump himself. I think it's less that than it is a complete rejection of Harris and the left wing she clearly represents. In the last 100 days, she staked out somewhat centrist positions, as did Joe Biden in 2020, and the electorate saw right through that.
