Well, those two things and a whole shit-ton of financially illiterate people who don't understand how inflation works and chose to play "pin the blame on the Dems" for the price of their eggs going up.exitflagger wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 10:25 amNo sense playing shoulda-coulda-woulda. If Biden had won he'd have been a vegetable halfway through the term. And after the debate let-down that wasn't going to happen anyway.
The combination of Joe's bungling of that debate and some little shitass JW Booth wannabe with bad aim, those two things are why we are in this mess right now.
Who are you voting for? Who do you think will win the election?

Re: Who are you voting for? Who do you think will win the election?
Inflation happens when too much money is in the system. This happened in early part of the Biden Admin, and it was exacerbated by the Inflation (non)Reduction Act. So while I voted for Biden, I am financially literate enough (and sitting on a very large 401k) to know that indeed the Biden Administration bears much of the blame for the inflation that happened. And it happened in a very similar to what that Jimmy Carter allowed it to occur in 1978 and 1979 so that's a bit fooling on part of the Democrats.
All that said, I don't think Harris lost just because of the economy, which has indeed been better this year than it was the two or three years prior. Instead, Democrats lost for these reasons:
1) Social issues - especially the utterly insane gender nonsense.
2) Showing weakness in the international arena and that leading DIRECTLY to aggression by Russia in Ukraine and Iran in Israel. They ignored "peace through strength" at their own peril
3) Much larger illegal immigration numbers but less that than the over appearance of indifference toward it and the ostentatious expenditure of taxpayer money to house people already not entering legally. That didn't have to happen, but they chose to let it happen. The voters rendered judgment.
4) Trump's near-assassination. That certainly galvanized some additional support for him and wasn't a meaningless part of the run-up to the election.
5) Harris herself: she's an enormously unlikable person who makes you feel like you're being "worked" by her every time she speaks. Trump, by comparison is a bit clownish and speaks is a bizarre hyperbole, but he oddly comes across as more genuine. When Harris tried to stake out positions that that were clearly more conservative than what she and Joe had pursued in four years, people could see right through that. It made her seem untrustworthy. That's because she was lying, and very clearly so.
I think the "Trumpsters" would be wrong if they see his win as a complete validation of Trump himself. I think it's less that than it is a complete rejection of Harris and the left wing she clearly represents. In the last 100 days, she staked out somewhat centrist positions, as did Joe Biden in 2020, and the electorate saw right through that.

It's a fair criticism to say that Kamala came off as ingenuine due to her shifting policy positions and difficulty going off-script, but to even hint that that puts her down at the level of a world-class prevaricator like Trump is ludicrous.

That's actually what it is. Print/circulate too much chasing too few goods, and you will have inflation. That's actually what it is. Higher energy prices didn't help, and that was a direct result of the futures market playing into energy pricing due to changes implemented by the Biden Administration.

People outside of US university campuses are fed up of their proxy war nonsense and the Dumocrats inability to find a front person even capable of beating a reality tv has-been.
Joe Biden.
The next time, they made him step down. And lost. That I can agree looks like a Dumbocrat move. Was going to say it's never a good idea to replace a winner with a loser, but it worked for the Republicans.
Outside of the US he's seen as senile and corrupt, and a puppet of Blackrock etc
Europe does not want the Democrat instigated proxy wars using us all as pawns to keep your oil and gas flowing, and as slaves to the dollar.

Kamala Harris disappeared to Hawaii and who knows where else after the election. This is the SITTING Vice President, nowhere to be found.

Dehydration leads to cognitive impairment so drink your Gatorade, girls; weeks of non-stop crying is starting to affect your ability to not post dumb shit.
One has to wonder if that’s how a guy like Biden was elected in the first place. After 4 years of crying half the country just couldn’t think at all.
