Paul McCartney’s ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ might be the second worst song in recorded history… behind only GNR’s ‘You Could be Mine’.

Billy Squier’s is a classic! And I’ll second Lillian Axe - Here is Christmas.

I’ll add

Extreme - Christmas Time Again
Bon Jovi - Please Come Home for Christmas
Rob Thomas - A New York Christmas

Country: Wade Bowen - Cold December

Butch Walker -
Santa’ Self (Fuck your Christmas party)
Merry Christmas
Xmas in April
Last Christmas ( everyone covers this but I like his best)

And written by Butch
Train - Shake Up Christmas

Band Aid's Do They Know it's Christmas is great, but The Pogues' Fairytale of New York is the best. Bon Jovi's cover of Fairytale is the worst.

Billy Squier is the best rock X-mas song ever.

Lots of good ones already listed.
Extreme, TS etc.

Helix - A Heavy mental Christmas Album is pretty good as well.

The Magic of Christmas Day (God Bless Us Everyone) by Dee Snider, sung by Celine Dion.

It's not even about the song. It's the story behind the song. Producer Ric Wake was a friend of Dee's and gave him a shot at writing a song for Celine. This is post-Widowmaker when Dee was down and out. The song made the record, it sold millions, and Dee bought a house for his family. He calls it the house that Celine built!

That's my recollection of it at least!

Didn't Dee also make bank off the Spongebob movie?

Bruce Springsteen - Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town
U2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
Elvis Presley - Blue Christmas
That's a good list. I would also add "Please Come Home For Christmas" by either the Eagles or Bon Jovi. Both are great! And not exactly a Christmas song but "Angel of Harlem" by U2 is kinda like the Die Hard of Christmas songs.

I like it well enough, and my 12-year-old daughter informed me a few days ago that she likes that song.

My wife has a theory that it is about witches. For example:

The mood is right
The spirit's up
We're here tonight
And that's enough

And then I think it involves someone coming across their secret meeting to which they say:

"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime"

It's a bit of a stretch, but sure, why not?

Still often played in the shops. Though Fairytale... seems to be the most regular song I hear.

It's around, but thankfully the office radio has been mostly off so far this December. Though Band Aid was being played in November. Yesterday in the shopping centre at lunchtime I only heard 2 songs, both of which I actually like: Christmas Rappinng, and the rarely heard I Was Born On Christmas Day by St Etienne, which I think is the only Xmas song I've ever bought.

Rocker4Real…please let us know your thoughts.
Point taken. She's pop country, but the song is spectacular the way it's arranged. A progressive low bass beat and a vocal that's understated but appropriate.

MCCARTNEY.....fantastic Christmas song.

LENNON......depressing Christmas song

TUFF.....very well done

SPRINGSTEN.....barf level petformance

Amy Grant, Tennessee Christmas wasn't mentioned.

12 string guitar intro.

Evokes a winter country scape, and a nostalgic feel

The Pogues classic is great but don't know if they count as "rockers".

Best
Waitresses - Merry Christmas
Bruce - Merry Christmas Baby
Elvis - Blue Christmas
Chuck Berry - Run Rudolph Run

Worst - Every cover of Last Christmas (prob a million of them) that isn't Wham.

Can we add a subcategory of Christmas song to wipe off the planet - if so, Mariah Carey's song, holy fuck, I can't stand it.
