The worst was maybe when Mercyful reunited in the 1990s. He went on stage in full KD make-up but dressed like a random headbanger with tight jeans, bullet belt and a leather jacket with a MF logo on the back, and air guitared the crossed bones in every song.
Gene Simmons would never go onstage in regular clothes and demon make-up You're either in character, or you're not.
