Had an edible and put on Too Fast for Love and let me tell you something, mister: Not only is every song on this great, every song on this is a CLASSIC.

How involved was Mick Mars in the songwriting? Because I do not understand how a kid--Nicholas 6--who barely knows what music is can write "Merry Go Round" and "Piece of Your Action" but now that he's got his 10,000 hours in, he can only pinch off crap like "Cancelled" and "Dogs of War" every 5 years.

Shout is where they started to think in terms of CONCEPTS, which was the beginning of the end for the Crue boys. Next thing we knew, Nikk Sixx thinks he's a photographer.

guitar solo on ‘piece o action’ is tough to beat

Great album, but probably the Crue album i listen to least these days. And by Motley Crue albums i obviously mean thier 80s releases. The ones that matter.

I dont like it that much. It has its moments, but not that many of them. When they ditched this proto punk/Sweet/Slade vibe to do the Kiss/Priest hybrid with SATD was when they got good. (For one album, anyway)

Merry Go Round is bad and no one's gonna convince me otherwise.

I consider it one of their worst. Maybe 2-3 good songs, at most. It's rough and tough and sets the stage for "SATD," but compared to the Ratt EP, it just isn't very good.

Yeah, perfect might not be an appropriate description as much of it's appeal is the raggedness. Same for Aerosmith, Megadeth, Metallica and a whole slew of remarkable debut albums.

TFFL & SOTD are excellent, no filler, I'll still crank both.
TOP, GGG & DF - There are some great songs in there, but not many.
DOD - Primal Scream is the last quality song they released. I'm not feeling anything after that.

The album is fun and has plenty of energy and attitude, but most of the songs, at the end of the day, aren't so great; however, for a debut album from four dirtbags, not bad at all.
