I realized when I was a young lad that peeing even directly into the bowl with surgical precision, resulted in a fine spray or drops splashing out onto the floor, your feet, your legs. Hell, even standing next to some goofball at a urinal at your local AMC theater you're likely to catch some spray-back. Being a germ-a-phobe, I started sitting more often than not to avoid such calamities.

Aim has nothing to do with it. Haven't you seen those clips of infrared cams in slo-mo that show the spray/splash from pissing in the bowl going up into the air and get all over your sink, your toothbrush, of course the floor that you then step in and carry all over the rest of your house?

Especially at 3:30am, when I am tired and my bladder is yelling at me to go empty it, before I pee the bed!

I'll often sit in the middle of the night, as usually I've got morning wood. Less chance of mess.

Why not move your legs into a triangle position with your stiffy and piss like a giraffe standing up like everybody else?
