1000%.

Every fucker that ever released an album that flopped has some version of "it would have been huge IF...."

Blue Murder would have sold if enough people thought it was good.

It was a big-budget hard rock album on a major label that was played on MTV and radio. Featuring the guitar hero from one of the biggest albums of the year two years prior. In the 80s. You cannot possibly asked to be put in a better position.
The Blue Murder debut record is way better than most 80s records by big name bands . So many of the big 80s rock act were releasing records that had 1 or 2 good songs and the rest were just filler. Eg, , girls, girls girls,

Okay, let me rephrase that. Valley of the Kings is in no way a Still of the Night, a pour some sugar on me or hell, even a let’s put the x in sex. All the payola in the world wouldn’t have gotten that off the ground with the masses.
Possibly not . . . but it's a better tune that Let's Put the X or Pour Some Sugar (both of which were dire).

One thing...that fuckin' bass player that Sykes hired (yes, I know who Tony Franklin is and he seems like a good guy) needed to put some goddamn shoes on when he performed. He looked like he was heading to the dojo for a lesson when he was onstge.

Also, one thing I do know...when John Sykes died, a part of Eddie Trunk died. I don't think that can be said enough.
