Mostly playlists that I put together these days.
...but also over the last year I have built out a vinyl system, and have take to buying blind lots of singles that I have never heard and just throwing them on without even looking at who the artist is.
That's been a lot of fun, and also a cool way to discover some stuff I never heard before and maybe would never have even played if I knew what it was beforehand.

I rarely listen to physical CDs anymore, but I mostly listen to full albums on Spotify at home and in the car. So "other", I guess

Re: Your preferred listening experience (poll)
Full albums on an Ipod classic for the most part. I still buy CDs and the occasional vinyl, but when I'm listening with headphones, it has to the the Ipod because I'm deaf in one ear and converted all of my music to mono. Right now most of my physical collections (CDs, records and books) are boxed up as I'm slowly building out a library/media room, but I'll eventually have a turntable and a CD player hooked up and my stuff on display.
Re: Your preferred listening experience (poll)
I selected "playlists" but I'm not sure that's the right answer.
My preferred method is something where it just sort of autoplays music and selects stuff in that style/mix/genre. Pandora did it best.

Folks still buying and listening to CDs… why not opt for the convenience and variety of streaming? Just curious.

Re: Your preferred listening experience (poll)
I have a confession to make! As big of a music fan as I am, I am not a vinyl guy! Although I claim to be an "album" guy, I like the option of skipping songs and/or making a playlist.
As far as preferred listening experience, I guess sitting on the couch listening to music through my custom-made wooden speakers that still sound beautiful even after 30 years! I cannot achieve that warmth or fullness with ear buds or computer speakers and certainly not listening from an iphone speaker.

I think most of us use streaming to some extent. Also, if you're a cheapskate and use free streaming services, the sound quality will be worse than a CD or good quality vinyl. Some say vinyl encourages listening to albums as a whole because many people don't wanna pick up the needle and skip songs that way.

I just imagine what Lance Eric would listen to in 1991 and listen to those everyday
Same goes for lunch- just think what Lance Eric would have
I’m thinking No Rules with Denver omelette breakfast burrito with extra sour cream

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Mostly vinyl and CDs. I cherrypick my streams on YouTube when I'm at work or the gym, but when I'm at home, especially on weekends when I'm doing housework and/or drinking beers, I crank up the old stereo. I built a good rack system like the old days so with a good turntable, receiver and speakers, vinyl sounds awesome. I go with CDs for most live albums and just play them all the way through, pretending its a concert in the house. Vinyl, I don't mind flipping the record. Besides, old stuff recorded on analog still sounds great on analog with the right hardware.

Re: Your preferred listening experience (poll)
I have all my music (a lot) on an iPod and backed up on a thumb drive. I either shuffle everything or pick a playlist/artist/album.
Streaming makes no sense for me. Why would I pay to listen to music I already own? If I want to hear new stuff or suggestions, I go to YouTube. If I like something new or something I overlooked, I'll go to iTunes and buy a few songs for a couple of bucks.

Re: Your preferred listening experience (poll)
This is my method as well. I have an iTunes library for the car and explore new stuff on YouTube at home. Classic stuff I love is already in my iTunes playlist so I stick to that. Kinda lazy, but it works for me.HoldenSSV wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 5:50 am I have all my music (a lot) on an iPod and backed up on a thumb drive.
