Toast - Tribute to Bread

As long as I'm learning something, I figure I'm OK - it's a decent day.

Bread/David Gates was awesome. It Don’t Matter To Me is one of my favourite songs ever. Diary, If, The Goodbye Girl, Make It With You….thats 70s pure gold. Great songwriting.

They were good players. Larry Knechtel played keyboards in a band a buddy of mine (David Grissom) was in.
Knechtel was one of the Phil Specter era Wrecking Crew members.

Those are all awesome, but you forgot my favorite! Without You.
Heart did a great cover of it on the Magazine album in 1977.
Also, Lost Without Your Love, Baby I'm-A Want You are great songs too.
I'd go see a Bread tribute band.
Re: Toast - Tribute to Bread
After loving Bread and “Everything I Own” for decades, I only found out what that song was really about a few years ago, and honestly it made it even better. I assumed (like most people) it was just a “lost love” song. Knowing what it’s really about makes the lyrics that much more touching. What a songwriter.

The band name, "Bread," cracks me up.
There was a Bevis & Butthead episode in which they destroyed their teacher's 8 track tape collection.
I once watched it on VHS and paused it to read some titles on the tapes. There was Bread, Meat Loaf....and one band called, "Bologna."
